This is one I've found myself completely alone in but here goes, Alyx Vance... now bear with me a moment before you tear me a new one... while i appreciate the work that went into her, the AI and so on, her character is the cliche "woman in peril" who ends up falling for mister freeman, a mute I might add who not once says anything about her advances... and the whole thing is just so frustratingly forced into trying to get us as the player to care for her, your supposed to carefully weave it into the story not say "heres is pretty woman who is nice to you, like her now!".
Its the shoving it down our throats every few seconds she is on screen that I honestly couldnt stand and left me hating her... here I am trying to save the world while valve spoon feed me some of the worst and completely unnecessary characterisation I've ever seen
Still as I said this seems to be an opinion unique to me from all the people I've spoken too so I shall brace for the impact of a flood of rage coming my way
