Yes, I would agree with on most of the D3 writing. However Scoundrel was the only one whose story and dialogue was leaps and bounds above the rest of the game. Scoundrel pretty much saved the whole game for me, and that's no easy feat.
As for James Vega, I like him. He's relaxed, has an anti-autorian streak and a mind of his own. Vega respects Shepard but doesn't cow to him. A bit like Jack, come to think of it, therefore it's no big surprise we got along.
I know he might be seen as boring, but is there a reason to actively dislike him? (apart from taking up space?)
