Oooo, tough choice. I'd say Cyndaquil from Gold/Silver/Crystal specifically, since as a Typhlosion it could learn ThunderPunch and hammer its way through the Elite Four on its own, which it can't do in the latest games.

Having said that, Charmander was my first ever starter, so it holds nostalgic value for me, while Torchic evolved into a Kung Fu Fire Chicke! (or Blaziken for short) which is made of all sorts of win.

It's really hard to say, but I think I may have to go with Tortwig. It's final evo is a really great type combo, and it has an excellent move pool, it's something even worthy of using in an official tournament. I also really liked piplup too though, my Empoleon was way awesome.

Torchic is also pretty solid with some nice stats and movepool.

I always loved Totodile, He was my first starter and evolved into the awesome Feraligatr, that I always named Toto.
