I was named after a film from the early nineties directed by Stephen Speilberg, hich is weird as I was born 7 years before it was released!
I am named for the main character in this book [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wonderful_Adventures_of_Nils].

ya my dad is a huge star wars fan and my mom didn't have a problem with the name Lukeknight of some random number said:
My mom wanted to name her son angel but my dad insisted on the initials LRT. Lucas is or so I was once told derived from Lucifer(as apposed to Lucy which is a girls' name). Told by my mother of course. I'm not just making this up either. If I was making it up, I could do better than that.
My mum wanted to call me Russell (as in a paper bag), my dad wanted to call me Kriss - thankgod my mum talked him out of that - used the excuse people would keep spelling it wrong like he keeps getting Geoffrey instead of Jeffrey.
Some random bloke in the hospital corridor said "Simon's a good name" so they went with that.
Thus proving I one day invent time travel to go back and tell my parents to give me a sensible name. Though now I am called Simon I no longer have the motivation of a life with a crappy name to invent a time machine to go back and change it....

Funny story that. You see, my first name is Alex and my middle name is Ivan. Me mum said that it was a combination, Alexander the great, and Ivan the terrible, the great and the terrible (Pretty good band name eh). But ironically enough, my full initials spell out air.
My middle name runs in the family (a tradition I will surely break if I have kids), but my first name was just a random name my mom liked.
My name is a common Norwegian royal name.. But it also happens to be the name of one of the most brutal kings ever lived in Norway. I can't spell his real name on these forums 'cause the escapist can't show the words properly, but in English it will be Eric Bloodaxe.

I am named after my father's old girlfriend, the one he had before he met my mom. Totally serious.
A poet. Maximilan Voloshin. I thank all known gods and all that is holy for not letting my dad calling me in honor of his other favourite poet,Omar Khayam. But luckily,my name is,after all,Maximilian. Pretty cool,huh? I'm also pretty smart and can do diabolical laughter,so i live up to that name.
