Did somebody say Dragon Age?

But yeah, I actually have faith in Bioware able to come up with something, which is odd.

Perhaps a mini invasion of reapers, and you have to infiltrate and destroy them from the inside, then destroy their means of entry into the galaxy.
Seems like the logical route to be more 'epic' than previous instalments.
I mean, it wouldn't really feel right to save the galaxy, twice, then doing something less epic.

I also expect armies and ways to 'upgrade' them somehow, like setting them up with bigger guns and more ships.
After a suicide mission, we need a proper war against impossible odds.

I also predict hostile agents working against you.
Like Ash/Kaidan, the Illusive man, Alliance generals, etc.

All just speculation though.

Here's my theory for the villans of Mass Effect.

We can all agree that each Reaper seems to be colour-coded in some sense:
-Soverign was rocking the red theme (Holo on Virmire was red, used red lighting to ressurect Saren, backlash was in the form of red lighting)
-Harbinger was the yellow one (Holo at the very end was yellow, when assuming direct control they were infused with a yellow light, preview at the end showed what we must assume to be Harbinger with the yellow light)

So my theory is that if this trend continues, then other possessions would take the form of other colours. For my example, blue. Who has a striking blue feature to thier body?
The Illusive Man.
If Soverign literally ripped Saren's body apart to possess him, and Harbinger retained the Collector form, is it really that far-fetched to assume that some other Reaper (using a blue motif) could possess someone more subtley, perhaps showing this only through thier eyes?

Either way, it's got to have an inside-Reaper battle, but I think a more equal proxy of the Reapers (like Saren) would be needed, as ME2 was lacking with a strong rival.

My other guess was that after all Shepard's been doing (Cerberus and whatnot) the Council declares him rogue and send another Spectre after him. That'd be good, as he'd have all the Council resources and he could pop up now and then whilst you're trying to defeat the Reapers.

No, that's just silly.
Obviously it'll be Jacob in liaison with Harbinger.
Right you are sir, I wanted to link that one but I was afraid it was too meme like.
Then again... the prizeeeeeee

Perhaps The Illusive Man could cut a deal with the reapers, become another Serin but this time with thousands of reapers on his side. He would have an army of humans but they get made diverse b/c various reapers have buffed them or something.

I do not know who the final villain will be, but I bet Shepard will be offered to become a Reaper (as a pinnacle of humankind. there were some clues...). So eventually Shepard could become the ultimate villain. Maybe you even get to fight your team then. THAT would be a truly great alternative ending.
I love this idea, it is the best "let me go evil pl0x?" ever. You as a reaper+ your agent (IE Sarin/harbring's possessed collectors). So you go about terrorizing the galaxy and finish the story with Shepard becoming something of the core to a new reaper. Also that should be the only ending that lets you know where the reapers came from. Only a reaper should ever know that and it would be a great challenge to the player. Every character that you have come to love or the truth?

Honestly, what I'd expect to see (and kinda hope to):

The character you had to leave for dead in Mass Effect 1, Kaidan Alenko or Ashley Whatshername comes back all cyber-modded, like Saren was.

I'd really like to see some full circle shit like that. A choice from two games ago comes back to you, (like the way I'm hoping that sparing the Rachni, means you get a Rachni fleet assisting you in the obvious-to-come mega space battle.)
