I and everybody who browses the Off-topic Discussion board will admit that "Who would you be" is a common question. Yet you know me, I like to make you stop and think about your answer.

Which anime character would you be? What is it about our choice that makes you want to be them. For sure your choice has a troubled past or glaring fault, could you live with that? Could you also live with their fate or destiny?

I know I've said Isara Gunther in the past. However after watching GITS: SAC, I would have to switch my answer to Motoko Kusanagi.

What sold me on Motoko was her calm yet assertive nature. She virtually never seems to lose control of herself or the situation she's in. She seems to also have a very strong intellect, a quality that I see is important in any person. She's able to make decisions on the fly, all of which seem to be the right one. Another thing that I find interesting is that she is one of several anime characters I have seen that has had a very troubled past (of which we never seem to learn), yet she never allows it get to her. The final thing that sold me was that Motoko's mind isn't restrained by physical means, and that she never truly seems to die.

The one problem I do have with her is that practically every part of her is prosthetic, including her eyes and brain. This means that there always some way to disrupt the functions of her eyes or mind, although I have only seen this happen a few times.

Why assume that everybody would want to be someone else?
For the moment I'm quite satisfied with being me.

Then why are you involving yourself in the thread.

LeLouch
Light (Raito if you prefer) Yagami
Intelligent people with grand visions, willing to get things done, and can (for the most part) stay one step ahead of their opponents despite whatever personal axes they have to grind.

ok here goes ( I have only watched two anime and only one of them has characters I care about)
1 The person I would be:

2 He just kicks ass (literally) and he has a bionic eye
3 Anyone who has watched Cowboy Bebop knows he has a troubled pass but I could live with it
4 I could easily live with his faith as he goes out in a vengeance fuelled last stand mission to probably one of the best blues songs I know

Any further questions?

-Edit- 5 He is a chain smoker so that might be a problem for me.

I just think the guy is awesome. He lives to kick people's asses, simple as, but won't kill unnecessarily. He needs no more motivation and is probably one of the strongest characters in Bleach. He also tries to get as much fun out of life as possible (which for the most part comes in the form of fighting) but he seems pretty laid back.

I would want to be Soul from the anime Soul Eater =D
He is laid back, and enjoys attempting new ways of settling his problems and most of the time they fail (much like my attempts). He is afraid of being close to people but has feelings for someone he really cares about but he cant come up with the words to describe it to her. I feel like i can compare to him in a lot of ways, he and i both struggle with keeping our sanity XD he also tries to be there for his friends as much as he can be and if he fails them he blames himself, but the main difference between he and I is that he can turn into a scythe and i cannot sadly =[

once again im sorry if this is a waste of a post =[

Because it had to be said that there are quite a few people who are confident and comfortable enough that they don't wish they were a fictional character.

L.

Smart, cunning, caring, and obsessed with food. He's like me, only somewhat smarter and with longer, darker hair.

No it didn't. We all know there are people who are comfortable with being themselves, that goes without question. However why is it that you find it neccesary to participate in a thread that is not of your interest?

Well seeing as this is based on Anime (and therefore much less realistic) I shall give a real answer.

@ berethond: Christ it's a fun thread asking who you'd be in a fantasy, stop being such a prick, it's not like it's even possible that it could ever happen.

Suiseiseki IRL is right in pointing out that if you have no interest in the thread there is no need to participate.

Especially as the question is "Who would you be" therefore only giving an answer along the lines of "I would be ..." is on-topic and not trolling.

If the question was "Would you want to be ...?" then it'd be fine.
