Who would you be: A new twist on a common question

Well, the only anime I've ever watched is Cowboy Bebop and the only other one I'd want to watch is Hellsing, so my choice is pretty limited. Still, I'd go with Jet from Bebop - I mean, the guy has a robotic arm. That's basically my dream. (Yeah, I'm weird.)

either of these two girls from Tenjou Tenge. Yeah they're sisters but they are kick ass.
Aya would be my first. I relate to her a lot. People look at me and don't see how dangerous I can be so either of them works for me in that sense.

I'd be him mainly because he's usually the voice of reason, but goes unheard most of the time, like me.

I do have a leaning towards GitS characters as I love the whole cyberbrain aspect of that world. If I had to pick a character, it'd be Batou. I love his varied personality, from his cockiness in the series, to his more muted cynical self in Innocence. While at times he acts as comic relief, it never compromises him as a character. He's definitely a character with flaws, but like the best characters, you love them for their flaws.

I guess in part he reminds me of Gunther Herman, who I always loved (and was despondent at his death) in Deus Ex. Batou went on to prove that the 'skul gun' that Gunther had begged for would have worked, even if it were installed in the arm instead.

Zaraki Kenpachi (seen above), although I already almost fit his personality perfectly. Battle is something to bathe in, Dont worry about the big stuff, and face every hurdle you come across.

If you want a drastic change than I guess I'd pick Baki (seen below)from Baki the Grappler. Awesome character, spent his life training in martial arts just to defeat his father. He has no unique talents other than a lifetime of training. Yeah, he's cool.

Er... what's the twist? This seems like every other "who would you be" thread.

I tried to make it so you have to actually sit and think about who you would want to be. But then again I forgot that not everyone is as complex as I am (sorry if that sounded arrogant).

I and everybody who browses the Off-topic Discussion board will admit that "Who would you be" is a common question. Yet you know me, I like to make you stop and think about your answer.

Which anime character would you be? What is it about our choice that makes you want to be them. For sure your choice has a troubled past or glaring fault, could you live with that? Could you also live with their fate or destiny?

I know I've said Isara Gunther in the past. However after watching GITS: SAC, I would have to switch my answer to Motoko Kusanagi.

What sold me on Motoko was her calm yet assertive nature. She virtually never seems to lose control of herself or the situation she's in. She seems to also have a very strong intellect, a quality that I see is important in any person. She's able to make decisions on the fly, all of which seem to be the right one. Another thing that I find interesting is that she is one of several anime characters I have seen that has had a very troubled past (of which we never seem to learn), yet she never allows it get to her. The final thing that sold me was that Motoko's mind isn't restrained by physical means, and that she never truly seems to die.

The one problem I do have with her is that practically every part of her is prosthetic, including her eyes and brain. This means that there always some way to disrupt the functions of her eyes or mind, although I have only seen this happen a few times.

I strongly approve of Motoko.

Of course, I would be Light Yagami. Motoko Kusanagi does not go far enough in her pursuit of Justice.

Because it had to be said that there are quite a few people who are confident and comfortable enough that they don't wish they were a fictional character.

No it didn't. We all know there are people who are comfortable with being themselves, that goes without question. However why is it that you find it necessary to participate in a thread that is not of your interest?

@ berethond: Christ it's a fun thread asking who you'd be in a fantasy, stop being such a prick, it's not like it's even possible that it could ever happen.

Suiseiseki IRL is right in pointing out that if you have no interest in the thread there is no need to participate.

Especially as the question is "Who would you be" therefore only giving an answer along the lines of "I would be ..." is on-topic and not trolling.

If the question was "Would you want to be ...?" then it'd be fine.

Then I thought I would like to be spike, however, he cares about nothing, hates women, children and dogs. Not to mention the psychopath from his past and the complete lack of money.

Maybe Alphonse from fullmetal Alchemist. While living life as a suit of armor would be quite the experience, I could see it driving me mad. Pass

I landed on one of two choices. Wolfwood or colonel Mustang. Those are the characters I would want to be in their individual universes.
