"Deja vu, man."
I regularly experience it, I think most people do, but I don't think most experience it as vividly as I do.

I'm playing Saints Row 2 at the moment, and I just hijacked a car, while I was opening a thread on the Escapist, my character was getting in. I see two Saints and I add them to my party, one of them gets run over and gets up, dusting himself off, and at the same time I look up at the screen-2nd post on the thread is by my good friend Furburt, and it hits me.
"I have seen this before!"
Literally, everything was in the right place, and I knew I had had the exact same thing happen before.

And it was probably the most vivid and powerful deja vu experience I've ever had. Seriously.

What are your experiences with this weird-ass phenomena?

Having conversations I'm sure I've had before, seeing people hurt themselves in ways I'm certain they have before and finding myself watching or reading something new and remembering having seen it before. My entire life has been filled with those "I'm sure this has happened at least once in the past, but everybody else disagrees" moments. I used to mess with them, if I remembered quickly enough what would happen next, but have given up the practice since I stopped believing in free will. Just ride the wave, man.

Oh yeah, I never told you about this.

I've predicted the future a couple of times. Extreme deja vu. One time I was talking to this girl in Dublin, and I predicted exactly what she was going to say, and said it before she said it. Freaked her the fuck out.

Perhaps I'm going insane, but if not, it says interesting things about how the brain perceives time. It's only happened about 3-4 times though.
Whoa. o_O Why does all the awesome stuff happen to you?

Pfft, we all know that Deja vu is just the matrix patching itself to add more kittens or terrorists to the world.

Well, remember, it is possible that it's just some form of dementia brought on by taking too much LSD.
>_>
Never mind, then. Hur dur hur.

I don't see how dementia or being on LSD would give you the power to predict the future.

I created a thread a thread last night, and it looked exactly like a dream I had in my head a few months back.

Looking around the site, I swear threads are being created with exactly the same titles as threads from a couple of months ago with exactly the same OP. Hasn't happened recently but I had a strong deja vu feeling during February and March.

Oh, and I came into this thread expecting discussion about Keanu Reeves.
You mislead me with that title, Unable! I'll have to go and take my anger elsewhere!

Deja Vu is a mistake in your brain.

An experience that was supposed to go into your near-term memory buffer slips across into the long-term memory too early.

Then when you perceive the experience, you pull it from long-term memory and feel as though this has happened before.

ALL THE TIME Im not kidding and when you notice it, it's like

[HEADING=1]WOAH!![/HEADING]

Something to do with the Closed Universe theory perhaps?

Time is relative. If you train yourself to unlock your true perceptive abilities, then the future, past and present become one in the same. Then you shall gain knowledge of all times to come and the time that has passed, and be forever cast into a whirling maelstrom of infinite darkness and pain, where your every waking moment shall be to you stretched over thousands of millenia, and your madness and suffering eternal; as you watch the world go by, a willing slave to your future and the will of others. Woe unto you, voidgazer, and pray that you learn your place before your this doom has come upon thee. KNOW THAT THE PASSAGE OF TIME IS A SECRET FOR THE GODS ALONE AND REPENT, YE PRIDEFUL SOUL!

(Note: For the best experience, read the above text in a Peter Cushing voice)

Oh, and yeah. I get deja vu sometimes.

I went to a mall one time that I'd never been to. As I walked through the mall, I noticed that somehow, I knew my way around. Then it hit me, I had a dream about this mall quite a few years ago. It was quite freaky, especially since I died in that dream.

This happened to me today too. Me and my friends had just come back from climbing and were explaining the falcon punch to one of the guys who was with us and absolutely everything was like it had happened before. People were standing in the same places as i remembered and saying the exact same things. It was very weird

I haven't had anything like that happen to me. It'd be cool, but it can usually be explained in some way logically.

I live in the now. I don't remember many past events, and I normally totally can't predict the future. I can think of one time where I had this feeling of "hm... I think I had a dream about this place before", but not much more.

You should try to learn how to have lucid dreams, maybe you can influence the future!
