Last night I was engaging in some Jolly Cooperation on the Pursuer when I was summoned by a dapper gentleman naked except for a pair of cestus and a rockin' handlebar moustasche.
Liking the cut of his jib I saluted him and we engaged the boss. He ran up and started punching which was my cue to man the balista and he moved fat and floaty into position. I let fly and... he rolled right into the barrage. Honestly felt bad about it.

Anyone else got amusing stories of co-op gone wrong?

Pretty certain I did a similar thing, except I killed somebody else who had been summoned. I also aggro'd the pursuer and had him destroy both of the ballistae, then immediately died. I don't think they won.

One of the times I was fighting the ruin sentinels the player I was with decided that he was the one who needed to draw aggro as a dex build. I was currently all health and armor at that point. He died. I felt no guilt. Then I accidentally drew the ruin sentinels up to pilgrim and got him killed. I felt guilt at that point. I also felt death.

I also got hit with the pursuer's grab twice when I summoned people to fight him. Luckily I had pumped health. That should not have worked.

Heh heh...um, you know that lever you can pull in The Old Iron Keep that causes the platform with the two Stone Knights to sink into the lava? Um...yeah.

I don't know what it was. I don't know if it was the host's first time playing through that level, a miscommunication, or what, but we ran out onto the platform. Killed the archers. He wanted to go up the ladder, and pointed for me to run back to the switch. I ran back and waited. And waited. He pointed at me again, and I thought that meant he was off of the danger zone.

Nope.

Several times during the battle with the Executioner's Chariot. Battling your allies for position in those small alcoves man, many a time have both of us been subject to the wheel scythes because of it. Haha, always funny shit.

Then there was this time in Sinner's Rise, all three of us going down the elevator at once, I do a gesture and accidentally knock the host off the side. Regretful, but fucking worth it.

You know that lift that leads down to the lost sinner? I was on that before and bowed to someone while we went down it which made that guy want to bow back.

Except he used duel bow and it made him back off the lift and plummet to his death.....

I've down it myself before too, that lift is more dangerous than the boss.

I'm pretty sure that lift is pure evil, if you jump onto it while it is already travelling, gravity seems to glitch out and you will start continuously bouncing on it as it travels down, taking damage with every bounce until you are either dead or dangerously close to it.

As I only need 24 Sunlight Medals to get my last 2 trophies, I'm curious where I should try to drop my sunbro sign in NG++?

I don't know if I'll even keep playing DS2 after I get platinum, it is by far my least favorite in the series but I still want to say I got plat in all 3 ._.

Hopefully I'll have some funny stories like these ones hehe

I remember my first time summoning white Phantoms was when I wanted help with the Last Giant. I was so eager to go kick ass with my new friends I immediately rolled down the hole where the ladder is next to the bonfire instead of climbing down and died.

Sooooo embaressing when you die in front of people for stupidity lol.

I desperately try to get into the Looking Glass Knight fights as a red phantom and it's such a lot of effort! And then you get in, need a second to orientate and two uber Clerics blast you away with their lightning in mere seconds :D good times...somehow

Just in case you don't know, you can roll during the loading screen. ...but you must already know that if you're surviving at all I guess...

Other advice...
Use the boss to your advantage... a Throwing Knife can stagger or mistime a roll, and at the right moment, that can open somebody up to the boss.
You need to be very careful when there's more than 1 player... keep rolling and remember that pressure alone can also be enough to get somebody hit by the boss. Keep your ears open for ranged attacks, and try to position yourself to keep everybody on screen. High AGI is a must I'd say.

I only really do LG invasions on my dual-Mytha's Blade character and as such, a combo from him will poison somebody, and it's very hard to heal when you've got a player and a boss on you. Also, a single mistake is means a backstab, which is almost an instant win in most cases. I do think certain builds are more suited to the situation than others, but yeah, that's just some handy advice... I hope.

On topic, though... I did once run straight to the door in Lost Bastille, opened it, and ran out... despite knowing it was a drop. I did it with absolute purpose, and I've no idea why.

I did the exact same thing to someone, and I sent him an apology right after. I felt horrible, especially since the other two shots from the ballista killed the boss. Funnily enough, a few sessions later I was on the receiving end of two giant spears to the face, although I'm pretty sure the host was just being a jerk--the other phantom walked next to me as my character was dying, Praised the Sun, and got all three to the back, haha!

Speaking of LG Knight invasions... you aint doing them right if you don't have 3 casts of great heal and warmth for you an the boss. It's the only way to get hatemail on PS3!

OT: My first time fighting The Old Iron King in NG+ with my friends who were sunbros I completely forgot how stupidly designed the area you fight him in was...
I enter the fog, roll to the right, "You died", because the dev team thought "HEY THIS BOSS IS PISS EASY, LETS PUT A BIG GAPPING INSTA KILL HOLE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ALREADY PUNY STAGE AND CALL IT HARD!"

"Dude what happened?"
"FromSoft's B team happened." *as I sat through the loading screen, laugh crying*

I didn't actually know that, but that's proper advice, thanks. The hardest part is still - even with every tip on the net - simply getting into the fight as a phantom in the first place. Sometimes it worked quickly in succession, mostly it takes fooooreeeeevvver.

And, yeah, I once helped as a sunbro with the Iron King and did basically the same. I laughed, too, but I felt very embarrassed because I really wanted to help my world host.

In Drangleik Castle, I had two sunbros and I was about to take on the LG Knight. I then got invaded by a red phantom, and having the advantage I rushed him.

Me and my two phantoms chased him all the way around the area three times, and then both of my summons timed out. I was still confident I could beat him 1v1, but he still just kept running. I managed to get a single hit on him, so I just kept chasing him.

Go a few more hits on him, which put him down to very low health. One more would kill him. I was more determined than ever. So I saw my chance when he finally stopped on a ledge, on probably the 5th circle around the castle. I charged him and initiated my sprinting attack, confident that I was about to win.

Then he dodged. I continued my swing, missed, and ran right off the edge to my doom.

He defeated all three of us without attacking a single time. He then sent a very honorable message to me:

"Lolololol you fucin skrub".
