I will end up getting it...but most likely about a year after launch. It's down on the list of stuff I want to buy after a bunch of recording equipment.

I heard on the grapevine that there will be no video output, no bluetooth to ps3 controllers (useful if the controls are shite) and no plans for Monster Hunter. If or when these problems are addressed, I'll grab one!

Not till Persona 4 comes out
I'm with you on that one, and hopefully by that time the price will have gone down and the standard early system bugs will have been worked out

Not at launch, but I will be getting one sooner or later. I just won't be able to go without the Persona 4 remake!

I hope this one isn't a complete fail... The PSP had a few games that I was interested in, but for the most part I was just playing Dissidia Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts and Persona 3 Portable.

Um, yes. I've known that I'm going to get one for a long time. Why? Three reasons:
Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention (port with lots of added stuff)
Final Fantasy X remake
Persona 4: The Golden (P4 is one of my favorite games ever)

Nope, looks very meh, more impressive as a device than the 3DS but a even worse launch line up, and no games that looks good, 3DS looks good now, unless Vita does a seriously impressive turnaround i'm not going to bother...doubly so at the prices its at!

it depends on a few things:
one, how the hardware and software is received in the US after a month or two.
two, what games are released (in the us) after a few months
three, will i be able to play PS1 classics on it. and if so which ones

best case scenario, not until a few months after it comes out to allow for a few software updates and a pool of vita games i actually care about to build up.

-EDIT-

seriously, what the fuck is up with that rear touch-screen. i cannot imagine a game using that that i would enjoy playing.

Probably not, not at launch anyway. The price point is absurd and the memory card costs don't make it any more encouraging. It's also missing backwards compatibility, which IMO is not acceptable especially considering the cost and how much useless shit is packed into the console. On top of that, the few games that are interesting to me at all are upgraded ports of games I already own, which is not enough to entice me into dropping hundreds of dollars on a machine I'm luke-warm for at best.

There's also no AV output to plug it into a TV like the PSP has which I feel is essential. And that brings me to another point.. to the people who want Persona 4, Disgaea 3, and Final Fantasy ports for this thing... do you people really enjoy playing these long ass games on the small screen? You have my envy if you do because I can not stand it.

I'd say let the DS, 3DS, and possibly even PSP sales stomp on the Vita's face for a few months (cause the probably will) and after the subsequent price slashing, pick it up for around $150.

Also, what's with the touch screen? They've got two analog sticks now, that's great, but why do you need a touch screen as well? Not to mention that touch pad thing on the back of the device. Seriously Sony, leave stupid, superfluous gimmicks to Nintendo's DS line of consoles, will ya?
That's why it costs so much. They crammed so much garbage into it, half of which is never going to get used by any developer and if it were all used in one game it would be an absolute mess to try and play. And, in doing so, they cut out a lot of nice perk stuff (BW compatibility not being the least of it) that would have made the console much more appealing to PSP owners.

Just Sony doing what Sony does I guess.

I have to agree with you here. If Sony had made a gaming device, first and foremost, without the crappy gimmicks, basically a portable PS3, it would be cheaper and more worth the risk of dropping that much cash on it.

Because as it stands I'm going to be buying a crap-ton of PSone classics, which will make up the majority of my library.
If I do get one it will be this. All the PS1 Final Fantasies, Twisted metal, and other great ass games.

I'm heavily considering it, but it won't be a launch day purchase, probably not even a launch year purchase. Once there is a library of awesome games for it. But if that takes as long as the other current gen consoles did then it may be a long time.

Needs one thing, and one thing only.

Have my $300 dollars, Sony, please.

Heck, I'll get this game regardless if I own the console or not.

I'm very much considering it at the moment but only for wipeout and uncharted. if they could come up with some more games I'd feel happier about it.
