In light of the continued development videos, let's get some GW2 talk going.
How many Escap-er-ists are going to be playing the ArenaNet sequel? Passion has died down pretty rapidly since their manifesto went live, but I think there will be a fair bit of interest when the game is released.

If I believed ANY supplier actually knew when the game was coming out, I would have pre-ordered already. Also, I want my Commando class back.

I'll probably give it a crack. I thought the original had so much potential but lacked polish compared to competitors. It's my sincere hope that this will be remedied, I really liked the idea of skill>gear.

The passion hasn't died really at all. Every MMO related thread will inevitably invoke GW2 and about every other week or so I see a new GW2 thread asking who's interested in it. I mainly watch the wiki and guru more than here since they are a bit more dedicated and have a better coverage.

About eight of my friends and I have concrete plans to take a week off work and spend that entire week playing Guild Wars 2 on release week. Hope we'll all fit in a party from the beginning this time around!

..well, our plans are as concrete as they can be before a release week has been decided upon. >.<

Me, although I'm not entirely sold. I was a huge PvP'er on GW1, won HoH I've forgot how many times and was in a decent HA/GvG guild. The guild leader still plays in fact, if you see a guy winning HA with the second name "Freeman", then that's him. Guild Wars 2 looks to take a lot of the freedom out, I imagine there's still a decent amount of ways you can develop your character, but taking out secondary professions and having certain skills bound to weaponry leaves me sceptical. I'm sure it'll be dope, the videos I have watched have impressed me so far, I just hope it's not too different.

I've also got the feeling that they're promising too much, and what we'll get will be watered down mechanics of what they originally told us would be in the game, such as a dynamic world and dynamic quests. Yes, that video of 100 people killing the giant dragon was awesome, but it was a presentation. I've witnessed myself from playing Aion all the time I did that giant events like that usually end up in mass disconnections and low framerates.

I'm looking forward to it still though, I'm just remaining sceptical so that if it doesn't deliver I won't be disappointed, and if it does I'll be impressed as fuck. On another note, I bet everyone roles Thief and it gets nerfed within the first week.

I played the first one.
It kinda sucked, it as linear, when you casted it felt like the action was stopping, the UI wasnt up to polish and I really hate instanced quest zones, apart from raids and such, I just hate that you have to go into an instanced zone to do quests.

Definitely. Loved GW1 and GW2 is looking better in pretty much every aspect.
Is it bad that I'm most excited about being able to jump?

I'm going to play it. It seems like a great game. I'm really interested to see how the combat works without the holy trinity of tank, dps, and healer. Plus, I really want to see some of that fantastic art first hand.

You're not the only one. Name a game that couldn't be improved by jumping. You can't :)

Though the lack of any release month or estimate is really annoying me. I want to know how much longer I have to wait!

This is pretty much me, except I was on the hardcore GvG end instead of HA. I sincerely disagree with a number of strategic changes ArenaNet is making, especially the removal of secondary classes and the guided development class system. I thought one of the most interesting tactical elements of Guild Wars was the absolute freedom. Sure, most PvE scrubs did stuff like put Mending on their Warriors, but what about the geniuses who put Shock or Plague Touch on a Warrior, or Weapon of Warding on an Elementalist flag runner? Or Expel Hexes on a Paragon? You get what I'm saying.

Build theorycrafting was literally half of the fun of Guild Wars (for me). Now it seems dead. You can pick from a few cookie cutter templates. Yay.

My only hope is that they add enough skill and reflex based gameplay to compensate for that.

Most speculation points to Q1 2012, April at the latest. A release date confirmation would be nice though, hell I'd settle for a beta date.

I'm.. cautiously optimistic. I've sort of cooled on MMOs lately and I doubt I'll ever be as into them as I once was, but GW2 does look very promising and I like the fact that I won't be on the hook for a monthly subscription fee. In fact, that's one of the reasons why I do still play LOTRO. I can play as much or as little as I want without ever feeling like I "have to play" because my monthly sub fee has already gone through.

I am. I'm so ready for a new MMO in my life. After starting with Maple Story, moving to Ragnarok Online, then to Guild Wars then back to Ragnarok Online there has been a big MMO shaped gap in my life since I quit RO about 2 years ago. I used to have Star Wars: The Old Republic preordered and while I still think that that game looks incredible I just don't feel like paying monthly for a game and have since cancelled my preorder for it and replaced it with GW2. I just hope it delivers although I am pretty confident that it will...

I will most likely play it, since I like gw1(even if the level roof is way to low for me). And seeing how I'm not buying Tera[footnote]Heard that it costed around 60$/month in Japan and would assume somewhere around those prices in Europe also ._.[/footnote] or D3(obvious reason) so looking like a day 1 purchase.

I'm really scared about what will happen to my grades in college when GW2 comes out.
