I watched some videos on the tubes and it does just look like multiplayer training. The collectibles are for your multiplayer characters, the levels are all to teach mechanics for objectives in the multiplayer, and from what I can tell of the plot its all set up for the multiplayer. You're basically trying to start a huge war between the three sides and then the multiplayer is that huge war.darkcalling said:There's a couple videos on youtube showing off bits of a couple levels, maybe more who knows. Can't speak to length or how good the story is but what I've seen does imply that you'll get to play as at least a few of the different classes so calling it "training for the multiplayer" might not be entirely unfair.Silentpony said:No kidding, really? Huh. Depending on how long it is, I might take a second look at this one. I was thinking its basically Battlefront meets Chivalry with an unhealthly helping of Souls.BabyfartsMcgeezaks said:No it actually has a story driven single-player campaign.Silentpony said:Extended demos for the multiplayer don't count. Technically Battlefront has a single-player.BabyfartsMcgeezaks said:It has a singeplayer campaign.Silentpony said:Always figured that'd game would be DOA. Who really needs to play another pvp only online game?!
Also your comparisons to Chivalry and Dark Souls aren't entirely unwarranted either from what I know of the two games. Never played Chivalry and never got past the Capra Demon in Dark Souls. Things definitely go better when you stop button mashing and look for openings. I can kinda do that against the ai but against people I tend to start mashing.
I'm enjoying the beta but I honestly don't know how much I'd actually play the multiplayer. The fact a primarily single player guy like myself is playing it at all though should maybe say something though.
And I'm also worried about the length of the single player. Haven't seen any videos one way or the other, but the design of the single player looks like its just demos.
