Who's sticking as a PC gamer this generation?

I'm keeping both.
PS4 and PC, and probably a Wii U and a 360 far down the road.
Variety and choices FTW.

Definitely doing both. The free games and heavy discounts with the online gaming subscription of the PS4 makes it pay for itself, and $60 a year is piddling compared to paying for World of Warcraft or other sub based MMOs.

I'm going to pick up a PS4 rather than attempting to upgrade my PC any time soon. Given the amount of power surplus PC always has to maintain to stay in front system requirements are potentially going to start skyrocketing. In the early days both providers will be poaching devs left and right in order to secure exclusives which means far fewer PC games.

I'll still keep my PC for kickstarters and indie games and a few years down the line I'll pick up a new computer that will be able to handle whatever I've missed in the meanwhile but I'm staying away from the upgrade treadmill to stop new games running at 5fps.

I am for one. I still think sticking as a PC gamer using GoG.com, Steam and Amazon will be the cheapest way for me,

None of the consoles seem to offer me any experience that the PC can't give me and just seem to actually get in the way of gaming what with the used games fees, and apparently an Xbox-live type service for Playstation.

So who else is just going to keep doing what they've been doing as a PC gamer - a couple of upgrades per gen (maybe even just one if this isn't a absurdbly long generation), kickstarting games, picking them up in the Steam sale, and getting cheap indie games via the Humble Bundle?
I am if enough games will be ported which right now looks to be the case.

still in a few years that ps4 will be pretty sweet.

Right now I have PC and Vita, but in a week or so I'll definitely get myself a shiny new PS3. And maybe some time after launch I'll get PS4.

Switched to pc full time this gen and likely staying that way this gen also. I may get a ps4 some years down the line depending on exclusives and price drops.

Why not both? I will prioritise my PC first, but I plan on getting at least one or two of the next-gen consoles too, probably when the generation is in full swing.

I'm sticking to PC as my dedicated gaming machine, but I will probably buy a 3DS in the future for hand-held portable gaming.

Well, I'll probably not be buying any consoles other than 3DS anytime soon.
So yes, I'll be mostly sticking with PC this generation too.
Even last gen, I barely played on my 360.
Or at least a lot less the last few years.

I've been away from consoles for so long at this point I don't think I could ever go back to playing on a controller. I haven't really considered myself a console gamer since I was about 16-17.

For people my age, there was this gap when you got into your late teens from like 98-01 where you were hitting adulthood and game consoles were still very much children's toys sold at Toys R' Us and the like. This is before xbox started going after the frat boy market. Many gen x/y folks hung up their controllers or handed them down and either came back to console gaming after the market changed, or went to PC and stayed there.

I will buy most games on PC as usual, but will probably buy a PS4 for the exclusives if they reveal a few more since they had some fantastic games last gen.

I'll still be a PC gamer because I can't afford consoles. If I could afford it I'd totally buy a PS3 for some of the exclusives now that the prices are down. Of course then I'd also want a nice flatscreen HD TV instead of my old box...

I've actually never been a PC gamer- literally the only game I've ever played on PC is Neverwinter Nights. The first one.
But I plan to change that. I can't see that the PS4 will be releasing enough games to justify buying a new console, when I can have a huge selection of PC games available to me, and can use it for other things as well that my old laptop has trouble with.

...That is, assuming I can get old games like NWN, KotOR, etc to run on it. The beauty of console gaming is, for someone who didn't grow up with PCs and doesn't really understand them, there's no worries about tech. Just... pop the disk in and go. The fact that the next gen of consoles has pushed me to the point that learning enough about a PC to know how to upgrade it and how to make it play both old and new games says a lot about what they're doing wrong.

(If that was even coherent.)

I recently moved to PC and that's where I spend most of my gaming time nowadays.

That's not to say I've abandoned consoles though. (snip)
That pretty much covers it for me, but I did expect my next major purchase to be a PC upgrade of some kind. I think it's likely that I will get a WiiU this generation, but there are so many positives about the PS4 I'm thinking about budgeting for one for launch because I think the PS4 deserves to be the biggest console launch ever. The news that PS4 has no region lock is some of the best news I've had in a long time.

This time last week I thought the future for gamers was looking bleak - everyone I know who works in the industry was expecting Sony to have a similar ideas as Microsoft with regards to used games etc. I'd even gone as far to install linux on my PC (and I really like it too which surprised me.) After watching Sony's conference (and hopefully Nintendo can pull a few rabbits out of a hat in their conference) I honestly haven't felt more positive for the future of gaming - console or PC. Microsoft can go fill the hole next to where all the E.T. carts are buried with it's products now.

So while I'm currently glorious PC master race, I'm enough of a gamer whore to sleep with Nintendo or Sony when the mood takes me. Glorious PC master race *with benefits, that's my future.

I'll stick to PC mostly but I'll probably give in as soon as Naughty Dog releases their first PS4 game.

I can't afford to upgrade my PC and I can't afford any of the consoles, not that I want to get any of them anyway. So I might be abandoning gaming altogether this generation, or at the very least sticking with retro gaming.

I've recently reshelled my pc to a corsair 800d, replaced 2 hdd's with 2 new 1TB sata3's and also waiting to receive another 660TI for SLi'ing for the cost of an xbox one....I'm ready for next gen.

I MAY buy a ps4 in the future since I've just secured my pretty much dream job so I'll be making a nice bit of spare cash so I might but no way am I forking out half a grand, well £420 for a DRM ridden console. Hell my car is only worth 3 xbones... thats quite shocking considering my car is fairly decent for what a 22yr old can own.

Wait, wait, wait... these consoles have GAMES on them?

Damn, that totally slipped by me. I thought they were just for watching TV on, or having TV watch me. Or going on facebook. Nobody said they had games. I might have to re-think this.

I don't have a TV, So getting the new console would be as much as updating my rig. Looks like pc is the cheaper option for my situation. Of course I'll be a lil sad to miss some exclusives, but I've got a huge backlog anyways.

If I had the money, maybe ps4. Seriously though, the backlog, I don't get how people can find time to play all the great games out there.
