Ok, I'm the US. Everyone hates me but wants me to fix everything because I'm big and powerful, but everyone hates me for the very same reason.

Sooooooo... myself?
Correction, you think everyone wants you to fix everything.
People piss and moan if we do nothing though.
You sir, are quite incorrect. America (like all countries) only "fixes" problems that benefit itself (see Vietnam, Afghanistan) and either does not get involved at all/ directly in conflicts that don't involve it (See Falklands, IRA and the millions of wars in Africa)
One of the first on the scene to give Haiti earthquake relief was the US
True, however I direct you to two point's. Firstly, I bring your attention to the geographical relationship between America and Haiti; now compare that with all other HED countries.
Secondly, Haiti was a charity relief aid; I was talking about wars since that's how I interpreted soren's use of the word problem. Mind you, looking back on my quote I should have made that clearer.

As a side note, what's with all hate my Scotish friends and Welsh half-brothers? That's hate that we could be using against other nations like the French!

So, what would have been our gain in Mogadishu then (besides toppling a ruthless Somali warlord)? (and try miss next time)

Depends when. I'm a Brit, by the way.
C19th: Prussia, because of mutual hatred of the French.
C20th: France, because of mutual hatred of the Germans.
C21st: Germany, because they're the only European country with any money at the moment. LOL

I live in Belgium. So, Holland and the UK are the ones I can think of, we're also pretty close with America. But I don't think we're particularly hostile against any country.

I'm irish so a lot of people love us.
Were good mates with the welsh and scottish for obvious reasons.
france cause we keep letting them try and invade england through us.
And germany because we were the first country to play football with them after the war. which is why the german away colors are green to this day =)

Well I'd say that the US' closest allies are Canada and the UK. Despite the rough start to our relationship, the US and UK are pretty good allies nowadays. And of course we and Canada are pretty close. Plus Canada makes an awesome hat for the US!

Many believe that the US's involvement in the Somalian Civil war was because of oil, not quite a selfless act. Look, I'm not beating down on the US, I'm just pointing out that America doesn't fight wars because they are some kind of world police (something which I felt you wrongly implied), they do so because they (like all countries who fight wars) want something out of it!

Also, there's no need to get so touchy about how you're addressed, in my country you address someone as 'sir' until you know what gender they are.

Norway's allies
- Sweden
- Denmark
- Finland (probably? I'm pretty sure we help each other in different matters)
- Germany (mostly becuase they're like one of our greatest trade partners)
- NOT The EU Norway is not in EU (ok, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Germany belongs to the EU. But I would consider those countries closer allies then other EU countries)
- NATO except America I guess America's in NATO, but I imagine they are our greatest threat. Seriously! If you hear America accusing Norway of terrorism then it's probably to attack and take our oil... I expect this to happen any day now... not kidding. America has been spying on Norway for ages. It made the news.

I'd probably say Israel. Yea, most of Europe is America's ally, but that doesn't change the fact that the Israeli government cooperates and listens to us more. Besides, we feel responsible for them because we kinda did help put them in their predicament. (So did Britain, but that's just about the Gaza Strip...)

Second, I'd have to say Japan because Japan is basically an American puppet state... with barely any military... surrounded by countries still pissed about WWII...

Third would be the EU I suppose. (Not france)
