A lot of good music listed here. I listen to everything, but I tend to return to the classics often, and my MP3 player verifies this, so my list will show my age.

1 Jethro Tull
2 Slade
3 Eric Clapton/Yardbirds/Derek and the Dominoes
4 Divinyls (love her voice)
5 Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band
6 Concrete Blonde
7 Steely Dan
8 Yngwie Malmsteen (particularly the Trilogy album)
9 Joe Satriani
10 Eagles/Joe Walsh/Don Henley/Robert Palmer

The list could go on, but I'll stop here.

Oh dear. I don't think I know many people that can name the same 5 bands every time they're asked this. So, I'm choosing to do something a little different.

-Favorite band of the day:
Yngwie Malmsteen. Technically not really a band but I've been listening to his new album all day and I love it. Just straight instrumental guiter.

-Favorite band of the week:
Mudmen. Punk music + Bagpipes = Freaking amazing.

-Favorite band of the month:
Rise Against. I always avoided Rise Against because they were such a left-wing band. But a friend got me hooked and the rest - as they say - is history. (Note: As a Canadian me being conservative has no real meaning in the US.)

-Favorite band of the year (so far):
The Lonely Island. Yes, the guys from SNL that did I'm On A Boat, I have their album and not only is it hilarious, but I really enjoy it musically too.

-Favorite band lasting over a decade:
The Offspring. Their Smash album was the first CD I ever bought, and I still listen to them to this day.

1. The Stone Roses

.... and a few other faves in no particular order:

Powderfinger
Belle & Sebastian
Sigur Ros
The Zutons
Weezer
The John Butler Trio
Massive Attack
Damien Rice
Primal Scream
S-Club 7 (heh heh I'm only half joking - You've never played Counter Strike until you've played it with someone playing S Club hits to everyone using HLSS)

... and I better stop cos this could go on all day.

Sometimes a more interesting topic is what music do you NOT like. For me I can't stand thrash metal, indentikit garage rock or gangsta rap (altho positive rap is cool such as De La Soul, Jurassic 5, Beastie Boys etc).
