Pond is pretty good. But the best one, simply because her job was "Blow shit up", was definitely Ace.
I have to agree with Ace!

She's my favorite (and also the seventh doctor was my favorite too, a friend of mine actually met the actors at a convention and has their autographs!

She's the first (kinda) human Dr Who companion who could truly stand on her own (I don't count the other timelord who tagged along since I don't count another timelord as a companion, but as an equal)

She went to town on daleks with a baseball bat and held her own until outnumbered. And no, this wasn't an ordinary baseball bat but one empowered by the Hand of Omega: the Omega baseball bat! And yet true to her nature, she still grabs explosive weaponry when the opportunity presents itself.. and walks around with a backpack of explosives. :)

This was when the Daleks weren't the mary sue 'lol immune' modern take but ones that could be hit and damaged. This made for superior viewing, as you could watch actual fights that were entertaining, as opposed to the modern ones where you sit back and go 'ho hum when will the winning McGuffin show up?'

I can't believe I forgot this one, SHAME ON US ALL.
She has been his companion from the very start, ever since She was 'borrowed'.
My favorite: THE T.A.R.D.I.S.

Amy and or Sara Jane.

They are both strong women that bring interesting plot to the show, without the annoying "I want to boink the Doctor" factor of Rose and Martha.

Donna Comes in a close second I think, mainly for being a bad ass :D
What?! Amy and Sarah both wanted to boink the Doctor (Amy is probably worse than Martha in that sense).

K-9 or Donna for me.
Rose didn't do much. Martha was just sort of there. Amy just bothers me.

I don't have a single favourite companion. I like Sarah Jane, both Romanas, Ace, Rose, Donna... Rory is really starting to grow on me too, now. Although I wish the writers would actually consider the fact that he's MORE THAN TWICE the Doctor's age now, and stop treating him like a child. (Well, to be fair, they do seem to be letting it cross their minds occasionally.)

Doesn't just apply to the daleks.

I liked Ian, from way back when. Science teachers were hardcore back in the 60s.

Rock]Just curious, I don't really have a favorite and you can say so too.
Nyssa of Tralkin.

Best companion ever, even if she had the worst wardrobe for the longest time.

I would've said Jack Harkness or Amy but then I watched A Good Man Goes to War.

Fucking Rory, guys. Seriously. When the hell did HE get that awesome?

You might have had an argument until this season. Now its pretty clear The Doctor is HER companion.
Fair enough
