I'm with some others to where it used to be Spoony. I still love him, but since he's not in the site, I guess Todd.

Wow, lots of Todd love in here. Yay!

I would have picked Obscurus Lupa, but it doesn't feel quite right in the light of recent events.

With that In mind, I'll just give it a three-way tie between Todd in the Shadows, Nostalgia Chick, and Obscurus Lupa. They have a pretty awesome love triangle going, and I just like their review styles.

Plus, there's the banter.

"WHY? WHYY? What am I going to DO with all these geese?!"

"Did - did you like what I did on the ceiling?"

"...NO!"

Yep. And Lindsey Ellis and Todd Nathanson utterly blow Doug out of the water.
I can't believe that. NC has brought me great amounts joy, I can't see how anyone else could beat that!

Todd in the Shadows brought me even greater joy, so there's that.

Even if he hated "Take It Off"...

I may give them a check, but I highly doubt it. I avoid any and all of Doug's collab videos because I can't stand the second person's commentary. It feels like it clashes with Doug's and makes the whole thing feel horribad. :(

*****Spoony tops my list, even if he has left. I've watched his stuff more than the others combined, and I enjoy his high-energy performances. He puts a lot of effort into his videos, and it shows. When I need a good laugh, I go to Spoony and watch something like his Wing Commander review. His ability to carve a stinger out of filthy language is a thing to behold.

****Nostalgia Critic is second. He's not always laugh-out-loud hilarious like Spoony can be, but he's consistent enough that if I have some free time I will put on a few of his vids.

***Lupa is third. Aside from the recent "scandal," her stuff is pretty funny. Her comedy is different from the others on the site - she digs the horrible movies and loves the cheese, as opposed to figuring out how to hate it. She's also pretty consistently hilarious, but the bits with her cat aren't that funny to me, and while I respect her apparent relationship with Phelous, I don't think the two should have done their recent team up.

**Todd. Aside from his (often spot-on) hate for a certain artist occasionally taking up an entire episode, he's hilarious. Once more, he obviously understands music much better than I do, and I learn from him. Two thumbs up.

*Linkara wins last. I don't always laugh at his stuff, but I respect his professionalism and dedication to his values. He puts in a lot of work to make sure he delivers a quality product, and he's one of the few who have done more than upgrade their cameras and microphones over the years. I still don't want to pick up a comic book or re-watch Power Rangers, but he gives both mediums an air of respect.

Honorable Mentions: NChick/Snob. Both are good on occasion, but I don't really rewatch their stuff. It's usually analytical enough that I don't need to see it again, or just bizarre enough that the jokes really are one-two punches that I won't laugh at again.

The only one that dips below mediocrity for me is Phelous. I think his voice is grating, and while he's fine for cameos, his sense of humor is pretty antithetical to mine. He just seems to have the one mode, and it's not my bag.

Just don't start with his "Turn Up The Music" review, it's not a good entry point.

I recommend one of his end-of-year best/worst lists.

Nostalgia Chick.Witty and insightful.I especially love her since she went rogue and dives right in with feminist/film school analysis. Also, her sidekick Nella is awesome. She REALLY needs her own show.

Nostalgia Chick. Ive watched other contributors stuff when it looks particularly special. Ive enjoyed every Nostalgia Chick production. It's just so...insightful. And she comes across as having the most academic chops for film critique, and I feel like thanks to her, ive absorbed a cursory understanding of things like character arcs, setup and payoff, structure and the like.

Nostalgia Chick is the most talented one on that site.

She doesn't force jokes as if she were constipated like everyone else on TGWTG, and mixes well-paced humor with great insight.

She also understands that screaming and yelling does not equal funny.
If I may comment.

My problem with the NCf is he manner of speaking. THere is nothing wrong with the script themselves, I often laugh my ass of (See: Baby dolls review), but its the way she constantly stumbles over the words. Comedy is nearly 90% timing, and she is quite... loose, when it comes to that. Hell, when she is actually on screen, it sometimes seems like a bad open mic session.
Yes, but she doesn't overstep her own capabilities at being funny.

Most if not all TGWTG reviewers try to act way funnier than they actually are by either shouting or contorting their face in a "reaction shot". The Nostagia Critic being the greatest offender. Lindsay on the other hand is a mellow presence who lets the jokes fall where they may instead of forcing them. She knows her own boundaries at comedy and I appreaciate reviewers who don't stick to the constant yelling affair on TGWTG.

i love rap critic's stuff. he doesnt update alot but he is still funny and tears apart music that really needs it. then we have the norms NC (critic and Chick) Linkara is fun sometimes like countdown and kool-aid man reviews. i love Y but like the RC but i love his stuff. oh yea Guru Larry and Roo of the CoGW with the 16 bit gems
Yeah I like the Rap Critic too, he seems cheery and full of energy, he's quite entertaining to watch and makes rap sounds really interesting, event though I'm not much of a rap fan I can say that thanks to him I now can even appreciate it, and as for Roo I would have chosen him because I really love 16-bit Gems but I don't really think of him as part of TGWTG, probably because I watch his videos on Retroware.

Definately Doug still... He's a reliable kind of funny.

Lindsey (N-Chick) is kind of hit and miss for me, maybe it's my British showing but for me she's at her best on her own instead of mixing in her friends too much. They're great background jokes but the 'side' story sometimes gets in the way of the subject matter.

JesuOtaku I have to enjoy just for the random fangirl flailing she does when she's legitimately excited about something. Also my voice is very on her tone and I think she's sadly one of those kinds of girls who gets mislabeled because of vocal tone. She's not TRYING to come off sounding pretentious except as a joke. I have exactly this kind of problem, but I'm less confident about it. Every time I try I get some sneering asshole who usually just took what I said wrong and then I go into my hidey hole again.

Linkara, eghhh, yeah, on the whole. Good.

Angry Joe, also a bit hit and miss for me but he's usually on the job and gets me to laugh a bit.

SadPanda, I'm certain this is my British showing, but not funny, at all. (Opinions, we all got em')

Sage, meh.

If I haven't listed one here I haven't gotten around to watching them.

Let's see... Doug is pretty good. The actual Nostalgia Critic videos are mediocre, but I really like most of the other stuff he does. Linkara and Brad Jones I feel like I should like, but they both spend most of their time talking about things I just don't care about, so I can't really watch them all that much. Nostalgia Chick and Angry Joe are both pretty funny and interesting. I'd come back to the site to keep up on their stuff.

In the end though I'll have to go with Todd in the Shadows. He's really just consistently awesome.

For me, it's Bennett the Sage (for his Anime Abandon that's downright hilarious), Nostalgia Chick (by far the funniest girl on the site), Y Ruler of Time (for my manga), JesuOtaku (for a more serious anime review), and Paw (adore his Musical Movies series, as he gushes about musicals much like I do).
