Balthier from Final Fantasy 12. I loved his accent and his attitude. PLus he's a pirate, and pirates are awesome. Not as awesome as helicopters though.

As for me, I choose Faith Connors. Mainly because:

1. The fact that she can get around rooftop to rooftop using only the body she has and her her knowledge of the city.

2. She id the only character that I recall of the top of my head that can jump over a fence(unlike Master Ch(i)ef and countless of other "only hopes").

I'm a sucker for the "badass with a heart of gold"-type of character, so I've got to go with either Amarant from FFIX or Byrne/Staven from Zelda: Spirit Tracks. Of course, most of my characters in games like Oblivion and the like reflect this, as well.
