I liked that one girl from Chrono Trigger, you know the one who could slay monsters with her fists, she was pretty fun.

Yuna from Final Fantasy X/X-2. Yes, its a JPRG but still has a fine story line and creative characters...well besides Kimhari because he doesn't talk...much.
I certainly liked Alyx Vance, it was one of the things that kept me playing Half Life 2 to be honest but also honourary mention has to go to Cortana as she was genuinely likeable if you ask me, a decent female sidekick also I must mention the women from Mass Effect especially Ashley who proved a good female love interest and also a flawed and complexly detailed character.
Finally obviously Samus.
But yeah of that list I have to give it to Cortana, maybe just because she has a cool name when it comes right down to it. Come on Cortana is a cool name for a chick, plus again she serves a good purpose throughout the trilogy and I just liked her.

Whatever, OT: I'd have to vote Yuna from FFX. Taking the appauling voice acting out of the equation she was always so sweet, caring and compassionate. Unfortunately that always left me feeling that the character was written by sexually frustrated Japanese men. I suppose my point is if she was a real person she would be a great individual since if she were real, she wouldn't have been written by sexually frustrated Japanese men.
