My idol would be Gregory Graffin, Doctor, and lead singer of Bad Religion.

The fact that he has managed to use song to teach me to think more about problems that we actually have, as an individual, a group, and a species. Indirectly, he has taught me to think more about other ideas, and see what the best parts of each idea are, even if I don't actually agree with them.
