Gaming related: The Kinect. 20 years ago, a peripheral this poorly designed and non-functioning would have crashed and burned (see: the power glove). But, with Microsoft's billions of dollars put into marketing, this abomination is actually selling.
To keep the theme of motion gaming, the WiiMote. Nintendo definitely gets some credit for trying something new, and creating a new casual market compared to Microsoft with Kinect, but this thing just doesn't do it for me. The WiiMotion plus definitely helps the controller to function like it's supposed to, but to put it simply, i've never had any kind of immersive experience with the WiiMote like the kind it's supposed to give. It just feels overwhelmingly like I'm standing in front of my TV flailing about with a white stick in my hand.
Again, Nintendo definitely gets props for innovation, but I think motion gaming needs some major work before it will ever actually make the game better.
