How about a crossbow? Or other novelty weapons?
Feels like a good idea but wouldnt really fit at all. BTW brilliant Avatar xD

Also yes it would be a Horrific idea. I dont really think they should anything else unless they want to hurt it more. Its damaged and wounded already. Adding another crappy "pack" would be like taking a crap on its just surviving body.

I can't imagine them releasing guns that could kill faster than the existing ones to be honest. You're getting into Stephen Hawkings speed of light territory at that stage.
Considering the FAMAS can deliver a lethal amount of lead in a single burst that takes a tiny fraction of a second to fire, I'd have to agree. The most powerful weapons can already kill a target in 1 or 2 shots and every weapon can kill instantly if the round strikes the head. Making something more lethal really wouldn't help.

I mean, staying alive for a few minutes if you actually maneuver throughout the gamespace is a feat in and of itself. Not only do you have hilariously lethal lead filling the air at all times, you also have air support loitering, grenades being spammed, missiles being randomly targeted and campers just waiting for you to wander by.
Indeed. Clusterfuck doesn't even begin to describe it. Have you seen this thread...?

I'd like to see the guns (more SMGs and Sniper Riflesm Imo) as a patch, not as buyable DLC... but hey, this is essentially Activision we're talking about.

Partially agreed. A patch is a must or else no deal for me. Snipers are already at one hit no scopes, so I guess seeing what they would do from there would be interesting. Also SMG's could use some love I suppose, they are fairly underpowered in this game (minus UMP of course. I could maybe use a pistol or two, and maybe an LMG

... FUCK!

That's all I would say to a gun pack.

Screw that, it turns me into a sailor at the very idea!

They already dropped a nuke on the balance in that game. Unless they make a gun with infinite ammo that kills people with every bullet and the shots teleport into your enemy's face regardless of where you're aiming, I don't think they could ruin the balance anymore.

Gameplay has to be equal, so yeah, a gun pack is pretty much out. The only things they COULD do are either cosmetic or session-exclusive. For instance, maps or skins.

A gun pack would be ludacris, break the gameplay. Also, would be unfair to those who cannot get the dlc. They should add more titles and emblems. I love those things.

I really don't see how a 'gun pack' would be able to be accomplished delicately enough to be effective and balanced.
Why not? Look at Team Fortess 2, that has a crapload of guns and gadagets I'm (currently) not allowed to access, and were periodically introduced into the game, yet I wouldn't say the game was unbalanced in my favour*. It just gives the players more choice to kill each other.

*Mostly.

Friggin' demosword.

edit: Just had a thought. Yay! The Team Fortess universe allows weapons to do some extraordinary, unrealistic things, yet MW2 weapons will have to have a semblance of realism. So this a new weapon pack likely means we'll either get a set of identi-weapons (lookin' at you, assault rifles) or OP weapons (lookin' at you, erm... massively powerful piece of army equipment?)

Enthusiasm = waned.
The problem is that Valve is GOOD at balancing things and that everyone in the PC community receives the items at the same time. Or at least gets a chance to receive them at the same time.

I agree with the novelty weapons idea.

Make some pretty average guns that have some funny designs.

Maybe a giant Cucumber Assault Rifle, or an electric flyswatter instead of a knife.

It could work, but you'd have to make sure the guns are funny enough to be worth it.

Killing your friend with a rapidly firing corn-on-the-cob would be hilarious in my book.

The best thing would be to invest those 20 bucks to create a time machine, go back in time, and prevent that piece of shit and abomination to the word "multiplayer" so-called game from being made. Wishful thinking I suppose. If they're going to release a "gun pack" then it should be free. You can buy alot for 20 bucks, including a old or used game or food or something else that is more neccecery to sustain your life...

okay, and what is *your* opinion of a good game? because the sheer number of players on ALL platforms would say its a good game even with multiplayer.

OT: like BF: BC2, weapon packs will always make the person without said pack under-balanced, however, by making the weapons available in the map-pack rotation options only, you will know that the people you are playing against will have the same weapons, but theory and implementation are completely two different things.
Slightly off topic because said person got banned so by that logic I should eat crap because 10,000,000,000 flies do? The answer is no and just because a lot of people bought it does not make it good it just means a lot of people bought and everyone has different opinions.

Now On Topic Dlc in general is a horrible idea and should disappear as devs are making you pay for mods which people would make for free if modding tools were allowed. In the freakishly sinister company Activision has become they cut mod support for the PC version through lack of dedicated servers in an effort to make more money. So no DLC is never a good idea unless it is Bethesda style which are generally true expansions.

You know, the bullet idea would work, they (the military) is trying (keyword: trying) to design a "rocket-bullet" system that would know the difference between friend and foe, could lock on to the enemy, and steer itself to make sure it hits. Puts a whole new meaning to "boom, headshot."

The game is however set in the near-future, so maybe not. Yet, activision has registered the domains for a couple COD games in the future (future warfare), and they seem to be on a crusade to ride this franchise into the ground. We all know they will make a game in the future sometime, and hey, why not include that bullet system? They should throw in stealth cloaking while they're at it... That game would be totally where it's at!

All Modern Warfare 2 needs is a patch that says

"Sorry about Commando Pro, One Man Army, and Danger Close" And a removal of those. Problem solved.
And cold blooded, ninja, claymores, tubes? Why not remove everything and insted make it an visual upgrade of CS?

...

Nah... I like to think that there is a reason IW put it there... Like they WANT us to use it :D
