Why all the hate for 14 year olds?

My grandparents were Italian (meaning not of Italian descent, but actual emigrants from Italy) and so we've always had a strong streak of Italian culture in the family. When I grew up, for example, I was given red wine with a meal if I wanted some. Granted, it was a small glass, and granted, it was watered down a bit when I was young (10 or so, but unwatered from 12 onwards), but it taught me that alcohol is nothing out of the ordinary and it can be treated with respect while still being enjoyed. Many reasons. Perhaps they're just as smart as you are, or maybe they're nice people. All the same reasons as why I wouldn't necessarily want to play games with people my own age or twice my age, for that matter - an arsehole is an arsehole, whether 14, 28 or 56 years old. I want to play against somebody who's socially interesting and not a sore loser, regardless of their other personal details.tehroc said:

As for this thread, this steriotype is a load of shit. Almost everyone my age says so, but then assume that 'it must just be my peer group.'
I mean, come one. For starters, do you even think you're hearing all the teenage kids on these games? Of course not. Most come on, play, and have fun without uttering a word. I'm fine with anyone online as long as they know how to play. Generalizing all 14 year-olds, to me, is pretty stupid as I had a deep voice at that age and was pretty mature.
Of course there are some that have that squeaky voice, but there are also the people that breathe too hard (all ages) and those that talk, but you can't understand (all ages).
In a game; I believe it's all about having fun, no matter the age. I won't insult anyone I'm playing with (unless it's jokingly with my brothers).

There was a 8 year old whom everytime I killed on Resistance asked me "Hey catkid, do you wanna fight?" He said he would "Kick the crap out of me and feed my intestines to the vultures."
Taking a tip from teh 1337 Mastur Cheef [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTxO_pgMqys] when he asked where I lived I said in his Moms house. Totally immature but he flipped out and left the game, and so began a deathmatch where everyone praised me for getting a little idiot off the game.
Still lost the match though...

squeaky voices can great on nerves and i have to admit that the moment a new player starts to talk and has a squeaky voice my first reaction will always be (in my head obviously) 'here we go'. that said i know a couple of kids around the 13-15 range who are great fun and never annoy me (beyond possibly twatting me in the head for the 4th round in a row).

Since my parents raised me properly I wasn't a stupid, rude moron as a 14 year old, even if many of my peers were.
