He has the adoration and love of millions of people for whoring himself to the music industry when people who are real heroes are mostly forgotten after a couple of weeks.

Also he's an ignorant, arrogant little shit and I don't like that kind of person anyway.

Admittedly I don't like many celebrities except those that are not arrogant about their status.

I'm guessing this was about the time he Said he was the Kurt Cobain of his generation because no one understand him (meaning no one understands his talent and he's the brooding new original artist)?
I dunno, possibly. I can't actually remember how far back it was. I don't really watch for Justin Bieber news. I just happened to be on Yahoo one day and saw that preview. I thought it was so laughable, I had to read the whole article and laugh the whole way.
Oka. I just remember seeing a quote of that everywhere when you looked up Kurt Cobain when he said it initially.

I hate almost everyone under 21 just on pure gut reaction, kids shit me, teenagers really shit me, and here's this kid earning more money in a day then I earn in a year most likely just because he looks pretty and somehow (god only knows how) managed to land a record deal, and most of all people freaking talk about him all the damn time. Hell I started out liking that wikileaks guy, now I just want to punch him because he's all over the news all the time and it's getting irksome.

It's like he hits a bunch of my hate buttons all at once.

Kid? Check.

Wealthy for no good reason? Check.

His name sound silly? Double Check.

Constant presence despite that fact I couldn't give a crap if he was on fire? Check!

Well, I do recall seeing that (the Kurt Cobain quote thing)...and it might've been in the same article. Ha, I'm not sure though. My memory's always been a bit faulty. I think I need to install some more, but I just don't ever seem to have the time or money.

Hes just another manufactured "celebrity", then another will come, then another, and another. Ad eternam.
Whatever happens (if he end up like 'Spears with all the controversy.. actually when he gets stale chances are it will happen) its just more media coverage/money they will milk off him. So he doesnt matter in the equation, really. He could be a picture on a piece of cardboard, or a few words on a piece of paper.

i personally dont hate him at all. i dont listen to stations which play his music and he doesnt walk into my house at random, imposing his irritating personality on me. what i do hate is people constantly completely derailing any sort of conversation about music by bringing him up for no reason. as a joke. but that's not his fault.

I dislike him because he has done absolutely nothing to earn the fame he has, unlike the few "pop" stars I like, namely Gwen Sefani, Pink and Lady Gaga (sure she's crazy, but she worked for years to get where she is now). And yet the rotten little upstart thinks he is the end-all, be-all of pop music, and that at sixteen, he's experienced enough in life to have a biopic movie made about him, and write his memoirs.

I think his music is garbage, but I have nothing against him personally. And I've got to hand it to him, that thing he did on The Daily Show to promote his movie was freaking hilarious.

Haters of Bieber are a lot more annoying than the fact that Bieber exists. Come on, people, just say this:

"Oh, he's more popular and rich than me (y'know, like most celebrities?) and even if I do not promote his productions (y'know, like many celebrities?), I will continue on with my life, realizing that yes, life is cruel sometimes."

Uh, no. His music isn't the worst out there, but it's pretty terrible. A slightly catchy tune does not a good song make. The lyrics are insincere and cliche, his singing is shaky, and even the beat feels like it was manufactured on an assembly line with the rest of the Disney teenage schlok.

Music is subjective, and Daft Punk, in my opinion, can pull off the catchy tune equals good song thing well. But, lets not turn this into an argument about music.

But there's more to a Daft Punk song than a catchy tune. It's rich, the sampling is creative, I can go on. Bieber's songs are as shallow and forgettable as they get.

It's like Twilight: We don't hate it because it's popular, we hate it because it's terrible and popular.

That's the thing. I'm not talking about justified hate based on personal opinion. It's the unjustified and ungodly overused jokes based solely on his popularity.

1) His best hits songs seem to be done/by with already-established artists. His solo talent does not impress me at all; in fact, it annoys me. I hate annoying music.
2) No diversity; limited range. Worst of all, he's doing R&B/Rap+Pop songs.
I'm going to be blunt (at my own peril): Pop music is sucks ass right now (I have my reasons, but they are not relevant here). 8 years ago, there were at least a couple of songs I could get behind; none of that exists today, and Bieber isn't helping anyway. Given the nature of the problem, unless he turns into Josh Groban, I don't think he could help if he wanted to anyway. Besides, he's making a fortune right now; why change anything?
Bieber was fighting uphill to win me over before he even started.
3) He's a living fad; a marketing star.
I have absolutely no reason to care about him, yet his popularity and marketing presence is so immense that it annoys me greatly just due to the regularity he comes up. He isn't Michael Jackson reborn, yet the amount of attention he's receiving now would have you believe otherwise.
Do not be fooled; his talent does not even come close to the hype.

And because the internet will murder me for daring to say this without this obligatory statement; this is primarily subjective. So don't take it personal.
