Don't know what the problem was, as I was easily able to outrun them.
Sorry, but I totally disagree with you there. I've NEVER been able to outrun Cazador, even when running directly away. Unless you're using a mod or cheat to increase your speed, they're usually a lot faster than you.

Yes, I'm one of those who crap themselves at the sight of a swarm of cazadors. If they added in giant, mutated taratulas, I would be the first to run away and hide.

Little did he know, it was merely a fire ant den. You have been burned to death by fire ants, would you like to roll a new character?

Simple. They don't include spiders because doing so would change parts of the game from simply being "fun" to being "goddamned terrifying".
Lol well put my friend. I'm terrified of what spiders could have turned into.
At the risk of sounding naive, wouldn't they just turn into big spiders?

That... Always annoyed me too. At least my inner biology dipshit. It just seemed... off.

However, I think it is a problem with enemy physics. Spiders would be climbing walls and be the only enemy to do so. So disincluding them means they don't have to worry about their gravity being off.

nah that isn't naive they could do that or they could also gain terrifying bodies due to the radiation and other fallout lore I'm to lazy to explain on a non-fallout forum site. (I'm afraid of spiders big ones would also be bad)

I think tiny, incredibly poisonous spiders would be fun. :D
Until you become intensely paranoid and flail randomly at the ground every so often.

Most likely a fluke in the enemy path-finding then. I've noticed it is pretty questionable on the PS3 version. But outrun them I did.

Buy Skyrim

Mod it to look like Fallout

Enjoy Fallout 4 Skyrim Mod

Skyrim has large spiders...

Also because they would poison and be about 15x worse then Cazadors

Mutated giant spiders would mean mutated huge cobwebs.

Do you want to see skyscraper ruins conencted with huge cobwebs, indicating that there is a matchingly huge, eight-legged terror living inside there somewhere?

Dunno about you, but Id are saying unless you bring a huge flamethrower and several gas trucks to power it, I would not get closer then visual range to that.
When you speak of this I see Dogtown (Denver) but w/ spiders....and myself on a cliff outside of town w/ the Heavy incinerator bombing everything in sight w/ stealthed...also a mile wide area of pure mines
That wouldn't a bad DLC, mutated Spiders just took over a hub for merchant caravans or something like that.

Now, I think spiders would have been a natural addition, especially in the mojave wasteland. You have Tarantula Hawks, where are the Tarantulas that they can, you know, hawk?
Wait, what? Tarantula Hawks? What are they?

They are no spiders because spiders are creepy and need to be killed...with fire. Lots and lots of fire. If they included spiders, can you just imagine all the different types they could make. Brahmin-eating spiders, spiders with wings, four-legged upright spiders, they'd be everywhere!

It would be interesting if the mutation somehow created a Jumping Funnel Web Brazilian Wandering Spider (Pounces, sets clever web traps and is poisonous). Or better yet, I'd like to see Bethesda create a spider's lair. Those things were creepy enough from the overhead view in Diablo II. I probably wouldn't have the stones to tackle it.

I'd be fine with huge spiders as long as they don't breathe fire.
What about the possibiliity of poison? If you thought Cazador's venom was annoying, wait until you feel the bite a a mutated taranchula!
Poison can be fixed with items and sleeping, being suddenly lit on fire not so much.
What about FLAMING VENOM! If there can be ants whose venom ignites on contact with oxygen, why not spider venom that bursts into flame on contact with oxygenated blood? So that whenever one bites you all your veins start burning! That would be...well, actually pretty horrifying if I think about it...
Till they make a perk to get around it, like everything else in the game.

No perk could save you from THE FLAMING SPIDER VENOM!

Ever played System Shock 2? I think you'd understand if you had.
Let's say I haven't (I have but that's not the point), why don't you elaborate on your incredibly vague post. Why would we understand if we had.

Tarantula Hawks are a wasp that stun Tarantulas and then lay their eggs inside their bodies, eventually the eggs hatch and eat the tarantula from the inside.

In fallout New Vegas, that's what Cazadores are. Just really big ones.

Yep, Cazador's own the wastes. Though really there should be SOME spiders.
