Why all the hate towards Rebecca Black?

Well her stuff is just bad. I know she is starting out and just trying to get work and I know she didn't write it but the song Friday was pure undiluted awful crap. Now you say auto tune shouldn't be a problem I think it should as if sports stars shouldn't use things that enhance their performance artificially then why should singers. The only time recording techniques should be used is to give an effect(eg reverb, flanging) to make you hit the right note.

I honestly don't see her as any more of a problem than any other pop artist out today. I personally feel nothing towards her music. It's bland, generic, and superficial. That seems to be what's topping the charts right now so I think she fits right in. I don't think she should be getting death threats, but that's the Internet for you.

I don't hate Rebecca Black, I'm sure she's a nice person and the fact that people send her death threats in definitely sickening.
What I do hate however, is that people seem to celebrate utter mediocrity. Her music is shit and yet she has a record deal. There are people who are far more talented than her who would do anything for a chance like that, and she of all people gets it.

The music in the background was alright, but the auto tuning was doing weird things with the tempo and made it awkward. Then I listened to the version without it, and I'm not a fan of her voice, it just sounds very flat and no emotion behind it.lacktheknack said:

Also, the tempo fails come from bad songwriting, which gets better as you write songs. Autotune isn't the source of EVERYTHING that's bad in Pop.

I would like to say that while I may not be a singer, I still know music and know what's a good pitch.
And secondly, I just don't like her music. I mean she's proven to try and deal with all the hate and I respect her a bit for that, but in all honesty I just don't like the sound of her voice and I don't like a good majority of that genre of music. It's unappealing and annoying at times.
Finally, one thing that pisses me off most about this Rebecca Black craze is the idiots who go on their little "YOU HATE REBECCA BECAUSE YOU'RE JEALOUS".
It's as if a person can't have a legitimate reason for not liking a person or style of music.
So yeah, I can see the cause for the hate.

OT: I only hate Rebecca Black because i associate her face with that song (that i also hate). I know the corporation(s) is/are the root of this evil, but because they're unknown to me, faceless, i can't summon stronger emotions than "oh those wacky businessmen are at it again!"
