Why all the November releases?

honestly, i cant figure out why so many big titles are coming out in November.

i am so bored of all my games, no big games have been released as of late, if one came out now it would make a killing

why release them at the same time and limit your sales?

can anyone actually tell me?

Christmas, it's the one date where people will definitely buy lots of stuff for presents etc. Although it does also strike me as odd that not a lot of games come out around summer for the summer holidays, but I suppose they assume that people will go out a lot instead.

It's nice to snag the 11-11-11 release date so everyone remembers it, possibly. Oh, that and Christmas of course.

It's literally a bad business run. Basically, they want it out for the holidays, but I have never known anyone who got all the new games at Xmas. It's the most competitive time of the year, meaning the consumer benefits, but if a game that is released at this time is not had and shoulders above the rest, they don't stand to make a lot of money until after the holiday. Also, people tend to have a very limited budget at this time of year and often take months to get back on track.

On the other hand, people are doing less game playing during the summer months. A lot of people vacationing, lots more outside activities, etc. So, it's not necessarily the best time of the year to release a game. But, they certainly would have a jump on the holiday season that way.

The truth is, consumers would benefit greater from a more liberal release schedule, a few new games every month. But, starting in September, it gets crazy with releases, which guarantees fewer game companies get my money. Their loss.

Pretty sure it's Christmas like many above said. Though I don't celebrate it; in fact, my holiday is in 2 weeks but no new games are coming out at that time so my presents are gonna be delayed which sucks. I wish at least one of the games I want came out soon but oh well.
