Why are gamers never satisfied?

My use of the word elitist was probably not a correct one. What I should have said is people who pick out faults in everything to give themselves a feeling that they are better that said object being critiqued.

And when I referred to gamers, I did not mean every single one of us, but rather a small sample. My apologies.

EDIT: And I agree with what another user said. While Portal was a game which I thoroughly enjoyed, I sometimes feel like it was a little over exaggerated in it's greatness but as the user also said, Portal 2 from what we can tell looks very promising and could possibly be the game Portal 1 is made out to be.

If everyone was content the gaming industry would stagnate. And due to all idiots being content with shitty games like the CoD series wich are way past their expiration date. People are getting more dissatisfied because the industry is stagnating atm.
