I'd be a lot less bitter if they fucking released Enslaved and Red Dead Redemption for the PC already.
That's true and is another reason to buy a PC. But I think a lot of people have built their own computers for games this+last generation.ZahrDalsk said:For the record it costs less to upgrade the normal work PC that everyone with a job and a house owns into a gaming PC than it does to buy a current-gen console (much less, a current-gen console plus accessories).Douk said:I don't want to get flamed but maybe its a defense mechanism, since they spent so much money on the PC, they had better feel like they made a right purchase. So they want to have "more fun" than console gamers who paid less.
I'm sorry you think we all bought Alienwares or Power Macs.

I bought a PC therefore the PC is clearly the best for everything.
I bought a console therefore consoles are clearly superior to PCs.
It's all bullshit anyway...
Now every fanbase has elitist fucks, but since this thread is about the PC Gamers I'll stay on topic.
I think PC Gamers think that consoles are inferior because they only look at hardware specifications as the answer. I'm not gonna lie, PCs are more powerful, but that's like bragging about specifications on a car. Sure the wheel affects the speed (fun) but it isn't the only factor. Not a very good analogy but its simple.
PC games do a lot of genres better. Like FPS, RTS, Point and Click, and MMO. But these genres were created on the PC so really its a non issue.
Have you ever played a fighting game on a keyboard? If you say "why would I want to", same could be said about RTS on consoles.Joe Herbert said:PC gamers prefer to use the mouse. Have you ever tried command and conquer on PC and then Console? No matter how much Halo you play you can always be a better aim with the mouse. Console games even add auto targeting to allot of FPS games to overcome this. until someone comes up with something better than a mouse for consoles allot of gamers are going to prefer the PC for this reason.
I don't want to get flamed but maybe its a defense mechanism, since they spent so much money on the PC, they had better feel like they made a right purchase. So they want to have "more fun" than console gamers who paid less.
FANBOY ALERT, seriously dude, do you know what you are saying, games are meant to entertain if someone is more entertained by a pc fair enough but the "standard" of the entertainment value of consoles is pretty good thanks, now don't mind me you just go back to being superior than the rest of us console paupersteh_gunslinger said:It's a question of standards when it comes down to it. Console games are of a lower standard. It's as simple as that.
You just don't like console shooters, doesn't mean it is flawed. A controller couldn't beat a keyboard at a FPS game but in what universe would people even want to do that anyways?ciortas1 said:You have just answered it yourself. Repeat after me. FPS games play terribly on a console. They are impossible to play without hand-holding features. They are inherently flawed. 2 reasons for that:Krylock said:Example: Try to kill one of your team mates in Halo. There is no auto aim effect, and it is extremely hard to center your bullets at your team mate. I'm not sure how the aiming is for FPS's on PC's because i only play RTS's and MMOs on the PC. But i can definitely vouch for most console Fps.
1) The mouse allows for eye-like movements of the camera/crosshair, something that is, again, impossible with a console controller. The lack of it is exactly why console players suck at aiming and coordination compared to their PC brothers.
2) Not enough buttons. Simple as that. Features have to be stripped (and yes, even for fucking FPS games) in order to be possible for a game to be played on a console. Examples: death of games with more than 3/4 weapons at your disposal; more specific examples: the lack of a jump button in Mafia 2, and the streamlining of the suit into 2 modes (from 4) in Crysis 2.
By the way, I didn't really ever see PC gamers claim platformers or racing games play better on a PC, and neither have I seen a console player put forth solid arguments on why console gaming (in the realms of FPS, RPG and RTS games, at least) is in any way with its own advantages, all I've seen them do is whine that PCs cost a lot (a myth) and that consoles are easier to use (true, but speaks levels of one's... intelligence, in a way).
And man, how the fuck did this thread grow so big so fast?
That's a fallacy, though.Douk said:I don't want to get flamed but maybe its a defense mechanism, since they spent so much money on the PC, they had better feel like they made a right purchase. So they want to have "more fun" than console gamers who paid less.
Can I applaud you for that? Seriously? That's probably one of the most legitimate points I've seen in this stupid thread. ...even mine sounded a bit "dick'ish"Mouldy Oldy said:*sniped* we don't need something that long twice
