why are spiders scary

I think it's just their creepy legs and spikey things all around...plus those scary fangs!

I love macro photography so I get very close to spiders, but I still find them creepy, that's why they're so interesting. If you're into creature design, adding spidery elements to your monsters is usually a great idea.

That's the stupidest urban myth ever. Spiders aren't that stupid. And if the rare few are, hey, it's extra food in small (hairy) bites.

If it's an urban myth then I'm relieved.

Don't be silly, spiders aren't scary. Very few spiders will actually bite you unless you're really trying to get bitten. Besides, they look cool.

Edit: For those who don't know, this is just a parady on some old Canadian public service announcements about our wildlife. They were exactly like this, only realistic and about beavers and birds and moose. They actually started making some more again recently...

That's the thing-
I just can't find them as endearing as other creatures. I like 'em enough; I stop to admire them, but They're not like aligators that are so amazingly adorable as hatchlings 'n such. Anyway, I can't make 'em happy, so there's no point to interaction.

Also, their mouths are pretty creepy.
