Why are then no games like MGS?

I don't mean like a huge cinematic movies the games are (I do enjoy them at times MGSPW and MGS4 are the best), But I mean game that allow me to chose to ether kill a guy or just K.O. a guard with my fist or a tranquilizer. I see most modern FPS games were you kill hundreds of army troops and blow up tank and such but I haven't seen many games take the MGS form of ,"Yes will give you a tone of killing weapons but to be a real man we dare you to take this, A tranquilizer pistol and rifle, and a few unique grenades."

I really do enjoy the Metal gear sires to this degree because they do know some players will want to take the easy way and just blast everyone's brains out with high powered pistols, but it dos enjoy it's players who take the moral high ground of proceeding though the game without a single kill on there record.

Play Crysis. The original one. You can take multiple routes through gameplay and it's great.

Or just Deus Ex.

Because that kind of gameplay belongs in a stealth game? You may have heard of this series that also does that called Splinter Cell.

Also the tranquilizer was called the EZ gun for a reason you know.

Also so i dont sound so smug, Im actually the worst MGS and Splinter Cell player of all time, on one level of Double Agent I recieved an overall percentage of -150%

You obviously haven't played the old Splinter Cell games. Or any of the Hitman franchise.

I meant more of current games or newer games coming out the last I know who did this was Deus Ex, but seeing a game to were I can go all the way though with just a Tranq gun or just K.O.ing a dude with my first i don't see any new games coming out.

I did play the older games I know is crysis you can avoid combat but it's so much better to sneak into a base and come out with no blood being shed.

I love that style of gameplay. I went through the first two areas of Deus Ex HR without killing more than like, 5 people. These games are few and far between though, there hasnt been a new franchise using this style of game for awhile I dont think. But then, Im a bit out of touch with gaming atm.

Other than being able to kill bosses by tranqing them, Deus Ex HR has you covered. Actually it's the most MGS-like game I've played that wasn't MGS.

No one mentioned Dishonored by now? You can choose if you want to kill your Target or go the more complicated route and figure out how to get rid of them without shooting/stabbing them.

The original Deus Ex has to covered with being able to tranq bosses (though it's hard and they blow up anyway). But there's always a way around an encounter

Yeah, I was going to mention Dishonored. The main reason I'm interested in it is because you can play through the entire thing without killing anyone.

I'm going to take it a stage further though, and see if I can Ghost the whole game, Thief style.

Hitman.

You can mess up with a propane tank to kill someone who is about to do a BBQ. How is that not the most awesome-est thing?

Or you can kill an actor on stage. Huge spoiler, if you still haven't played Blood Money this might spoil you the fun.

Alright, so there in an actor on stage. You can rig the lighting so that it falls on him. Or when another actor shoots a blank gun at him, you can sniper him and nobody will notice there was another shot. Better yet, tranq the actor, dress as him, and shoot the target yourself.

Or even better... you can just replace the blank gun for a real one, and have one actor kill the target for you.

Warhead does that a little better, because there are one or two levels with various objectives you can do by your own pacing and order.

Why? Because publishers believe that violent first-person shooters are the only things that will sell these days.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution does a pretty good job (excluding boss fights), it has a decent sized world with relatively open level design compared to most modern shooters.

Dishonored is looking like it'll shape up to try and out-Deus Ex, well, Deus Ex.

Hitman: Absolution is probably not going to have the non-lethal options, but it may allow you to completely avoid taking out enemies that aren't your actual target, don't know for sure yet.

Other than that, yeah, I agree with you OP. There aren't enough games that let you pick sneaky, non-lethal ways of going through levels.

What, no mention of Alpha Protocol yet?
Harumph. Alpha Protocol was also nice in that doing some of the missions nonlethally would seriously change later sections of the game.

Why, you're welcome!

Oh, I've actually thought of another pair of games that can technically fit in here:

Batman: Arkham Asylum/Arkham City. Because Batman does his damnedest to refrain from lethal acts of violence, and they actually have a fairly heavy emphasis on a really good stealth system, mixed with a great hand-to-hand brawling combat system.

Of course, I'd honestly be surprised if there's really people on this website who still haven't played at least one of those two games, unless they really don't care about Batman...

EDIT: And as far as Alpha Protocol goes, it's very much a "Your mileage may vary" game. It's made by Obsidian, so while it has gotten a fair amount of patches and everything to stabilize it by now, it's still highly likely to be buggy and frustrating, and the timed conversation system can be either a refreshing new experience or an exercise in futility. It does emphasize being stealthy, too, though.

In addition to what's been mentioned, OP, try having a look at

Thief series (all three on GOG and Steam)
Mirror's Edge

for non-lethal action options. Thief is all about stealth, Mirror's Edge is all about speed, but I had a great time with both, and you don't have to kill anyone.
