why must we call demon souls hard? i don't get it. demon souls is not hard. I mean god damn a lev 1 knight can one shot a guy (talking about the beginning of 1-1.) we say Demon souls is the hardest game ever but i call Bs! demon souls is just harsh. (here is how an entire world works out, levs 1-3. you fight through some enigmas and face off agents a demon. lev 4 the demon is in the next room no big threat.) worst of is that the arch demon is easily as hell. the dragon god. requires some timing, the flying stingray you need the magic sword, the knight guy, (forgot his name.) just hit him in the back. and people also say demon souls has no save. that is half true. throughout levls you will find secret passages that will allow to pull to a elevator, or stairs, or a locked room. so when you die you comeback through the other way instead of restarting the hole levl. and if you open up a boss chamber. it will be opened so you don't have to restart every thing again. i love demon souls but i think its just turning into a trend calling it hardest games ever.

edit. ya left out that i also cheated at DS. i would always check video guides on how to beat boss's and where to get the best items. so maby im not seeing it as others would if they went head first into the action.

Demon's Souls is not hard. It is unforgiving and for that it resembles an older hack and slash/action RPG mix from the late 80s and early 90s. Yet, despite that and its ankle-shallow story, it's fun, engaging, and the gameplay and customization is quite deep. It is one of the best games I've played in recent years.

It, would, however, be easier if the Dual Shock controller wasn't an out of date POS that feels flimsy and loose in your hands compared to the 360 controller.

I haven't played it personally, but it sounds and reminds me of Ghosts 'n Goblins. Now that game was unforgiving.

What? I'm sorry but I don't even understand what you are saying right now. Please fix the post and then I will answer your question more fully. From what I understand right now I can say that it is a difficult game, though not unbeatable

This.
I haven't played it, but from what I understand, "unforgiving" is the perfect term for it. People these days dismiss this very attribute to being an ill-contrived or unpolished gameplay feature. I find it so fascinating to find this on the PS3 of all things, considering that being relatively inaccessible was what caused it to be left at the wayside of the 16-bit era. At least in the American market...

They, the big reviewers, said dragon age was hard too.
When all you get is dumbed down games, a game with some minimal challenge suddenly seems hard.

Is it that hard to believe that you're just better at the game than most people? Dude. Get some self-confidence.

Sounds like a wannabe elitist heard people call a game 'hard' and thus decided to publicly shame everyone by saying how good he is at it.

Too bad nobody played the game enough to care :(

It seems like what you're doing is just saying how good you are at a game that everyone else finds hard.
I don't own a PS3, but it seems like a lot of people say Demons' Souls is very hard.

It's not exactly hard, it's just a great big slog.

But certain Bosses were fucking brutal, like the Flamelurker, Maneater and King Allant.

Sounds about right. Dragon Age: Origins isn't so much hard in the context of actual game-play, but harder to balance stuff you really need to do (e.g. work, sleep, eat) and the game.

Well, I played DS always offline (no connection on the PS3...) and without hints outside the game either (my 3G connection was also down at the time) and apart from "unforgiving" (certainly), I also found it genuinely hard. Figuring out what to do on each boss was an exercise at extremely dangerous and careful trial and error and some of the bosses were really brutal. The most problem I had with Flamelurker, after he was on low health he began reacting extremely fast, nearly impossible to "dance" with, and he killed me about 15 times. Also yeah, the game has shortcuts, but not all the time (Hi 5-2, you fucking piece of shit of a level). So yeah, the game is a mix of both, unforgiving and hard.

I dunno about you but that bog level tore me up like a prison shower block, borrowed it from a friend and gave it RIGHT back.

I think it's such a solid game, due to the fact that us Europeans haven't even got it! You try beating a game that you can't even buy, it's incredibly tough.

Do like the look of this game though and hope it does come out over here eventually.

Yeah, it isn;t hard at all. Unforgiving? Hell yeah. It's Ghosts and Goblins unforgiving, but like Ghosts and Goblins, it's at least playable and worth it.
