To quote the guy from Minesweeper: The Movie
"I'M HERE BECAUSE I'M BORED!"

But anyway, I don't even remember my first videogame. I vaguely remember playing a digital pool game, but I don't think that was my first. At least it's the first one I specifically remember.

There have been quite a few threads recently asking for your favourite or threads trying to spread hate for <insert console/game/company/political institution here>.

But as I read the thoughts of my fellow enlightened masses, or the rank drivel of the morons, depending on your point of view, I realise that we're all on these forums for one reason...

We enjoy our games.

I'm curious to know, what started you down this path. What piece of interactive media grabbed a hold of you and kept you.

For me, it was Pitfall on the Atari 2600.

Yeah pitfall got me to and Jungle Jim....But i must say as long as i play games i also want to make my own games...And being on forums like this one is helpful to get an idea what people like and what not.

Although its a nice and cozy place here ;)

Nintendo created Super Mario Bros. and that's the first game I ever played. Ever since I've loved vidya games.

Street Fighter II, because it was the first time I could kick my older brothers' collective asses.

addendum: and the reason I'm here now is because nobody's invading on demon's souls... kinda hard to PKK when there's no PK after your blood.

Wolf3d/Prince of Persia/Commander Keen.

A mix of those, and a lot of thanks to my Granddad for teaching me dos commands and buying games that looked good.

I usually stay in the Off-Topic threads.

Buut it was definitely a mixture of games on the PS1 and N64, nothing too specific.

I played Alex Kidd in miracle world on a Sega Master System at my mother's friend's place, and got a Sega Master System for Christmas after begging my mother for one. The Sega eventually died, but by that time I had a PC and spent the 90's playing pirated copies of everything from Half-Life to Sierra and Lucasarts adventure games.
To this day I can remember how to finish the entirely of Space Quest 1-6 in one sitting.

It's one of life's great mysteries isn't it? Why are we here? Are we the product of some cosmic coincidence or is there really a god watching everything with a plan for us & stuff, I don't know man, but it keeps me up at night.

I played a few games on the Master System early on as a wee lad, but nothing more then just a toy that didn't register much to me. Then Sonic The Hedgehog on the Mega Drive was given to me one day, alongside Sonic The Comic, that got me into gaming.

In the year 5367 my best friend Snarfkl pushed me through a worm hole that took me back to this time. And now I'm trying to conquer the internet, starting with this site.
EDIT: 500th post! This is relevant to my interests!
