But then, I'm mildly addicted to the site, so origins don't particularly matter.

Because the community here are like no other. Everyone presents a valid argument and provide very interesting discussion topics.

So, why do you have an account?

At first, I wanted to write long sweeping disagreements with Zero Punctuation videos and criticize all of the users who would just cite lines from the show and saying "Good episode Yahtzee" and never really seemed to spawn discussion from it. Every Wednesday, for about five weeks, I'd sit down to start disagreeing, then kinda wrote it off as pointless.

After that, became something of a recognizable face for the locals at the time in User Reviews and Off-Topic. Since then, it's been a successive series of wanting to come for the users, then the IRC, then the large topics, then the writing, then the users, then the IRC, then modding, now I just show up because years of habit are hard to break.

That, and I like the community here. I could always write more often now.

I saw zero punctuation and apparently the zero punctuation site also has subsection called the escapist.
