Okay, recently I decided that I wanted to replay my favourite game; Metal Gear Solid 3; Subsistance. But, the game disc wasn't in the box, and it wasn't in any either mine or my brothers PS2's... I even checked all my friends ones aswell. I was really annoyed because I know it wasn't me who has lost the disc! But anyway, I though to myself "guess I will just have to buy a new copy... they can't be that expensive can they??". Well I was waaayyy wrong!. I don;t want to buy a pre-owned one because I can't find one locally and I don't trust the internet people. This only leaves me with one option... forking out 80-150 pound for a new copy :(

Now for the discussion... What games are there what you want to buy but are just too expensive? I mean, MGS 3 can't be the only game out there which is so rare that it costs more then a brand new 360 or PS3 game? Or am I just THAT unlucky!!!??

*Looks at title* That's what she said! But business is business.

OP- Just get a pre-owned one if you're not willing to pay that much money.

Yeah, used games aren't really a big deal (unless you're a game company I guess). I buy most of my games on ebay and so far I've never had a problem with the quality of them. They're usually in near mint condition actually. You can get fairly recent releases for like $20, so your game shouldn't be too pricey.

In case you couldn't tell, I'm kind of a cheapskate, so really all new games are too expensive to me until the price drops on them.

Seriously? I know System Shock 2 is both expensive and bloody hard to find, but I got my copy of the original Silent Hill for like $20.

I'm currently waiting to find Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions and Enslaved on eBay. It might be a while, but I'm patient.

But that's not really what you're talking about. No "hard finds" for me. Just new ones that I'm not willing to spend full price on.

Steel Batalion for the XBox. Then again it was super expensive when it came out due to the included giant control board. I really want to play it though. It looked awesome.

Well, only problem I have is having to hand over more than 100 dollars to buy a game that's almost a year old.

Almost every collectors edition ever. Though, I did search for older games I loved playing as a child but couldn't find them, namely Evil Zone. :)

Space Channel 5 Part 2.

The American version is fairly standard for PS2 games.

The UK version.......runs around 80-150£ on eBay. Fuck.

However! My cousin just so happens to have a copy of it! My luck is astonishing.

But...what?! It's easily the most demanded of the series, so I would imagine you'd be able to find it relatively cheap. I have a friend who picked it up at a garage sale for for like, $10. My own copy I found for about $25 - 30 Canadian.

Personally, I found Silent Hill 3 to be the most expensive on average. Mind you, I did do quite a bit of online searching, and it totally depends on where you bought your copy.
