it means instant kill with one hit. instant giblets. it was a popular mode in unreal tournament where you would use some energy weapon (the name of it escapes me, shock rifle or something) and if you hit them, the person would explode.steeple said:em... whats instagib? @ LKiitma and anyone who can answer

I have no beard of any sort, although I don't exactly know what you mean by "neckbeard."Eggo said:Have you grown a neckbeard?
Otherwise, I can't fathom how a socially normative person could offer as their very first recommendation in literature for understanding the differences between men and women a work of science fiction by Frank Herbert.
I've read Dune, Dune Messiah, and Children of Dune back when I was 11 and 12, but I stopped after that because I realized there were far more intellectually stimulating books to read. My apologies for being too smart and not continuing onto the fourth book.
I might, but an average person would be in over their head.Eggo said:You'll get a lot more out of reading well written anthropology, sociology, and psychology books of non fiction
I, on the other hand, have read it and would advise you to stay away. Go no further than Dune Messiah, Children of Dune at the most, after that they started to get really weird.Eldritch Warlord said:I might, but an average person would be in over their head.Eggo said:You'll get a lot more out of reading well written anthropology, sociology, and psychology books of non fiction
You're a wholly lost cause in the crusade for sensibilty.
To the thread as a whole. I recommend God Emperor of Dune for some insight into the fundamental difference between male and female character, it has certainly aided me in understanding why there are fewer female gamers than male gamers. This elitist Eggo who looks down upon you and has never read the book thinks you would be wasting your time for some reason.
I don't think I feel comfortable anymore.SecretTacoNinja said:How you doin'?Phyroxis said:We need to see more female gamers.. I won't date anything else. =P
This, I agree with. There are girl gamers with the same amount, if not more, skill than guys, so why be easier on them? It's like reverse sexism. If I'm in an FFA, I'm going to shoot anything that moves, whether it's a 12 year old kid, a teenage girl, or a 90 year old guy.Phyroxis said:Guys ("boys") need to stop treating the appearance of a female gamers as lightning, and just treat them the same.
I agree... it always makes me feel special to hear a sexy voice right in my ear... 8)Dommyboy said:I would really enjoy to hear a females voice on an online game. What a nice change that would be. Maybe it could even happen on Xbox live?
Fair enough, O Mighty One of the Golden Screen-name. (although I like the weird stuff)nilcypher said:If we're going to have this discussion, can we have this discussion and not pointless bickering or book reports. Thanks/
What a crock. You're overthinking the whole thing. You only consider females who game differently because you've found something in them with which to identify. Suddenly, they're people, not Girls, that alien race about which the running joke in our culture is "you'll never figure them out." You've got a common denominator with an individual, something that has bonded people together for centuries. A girl who games isn't fundamentally any different from another girl who texts, plays softball or builds robots for competition any more than a boy[/] who games is fundamentally different from another boy who texts, plays softball or builds robots for competition. We're people, same as you, with a host of interests, preferences and attitudes. You've decided they're more "male" because you believe that "video games are a guy thing." In reality, they're just people with whom you have something in common. Gender is an issue in this instance only if you believe it is.LordCraigus said:To me this only helps to enforce the idea that men and women think differently. Any girl I've met that does game or play sport always seems to be more male-minded and hangs out with guys more. Whereas any guy I've met who does stereotypically girly things like gossip and shop has always been at least metrosexual and in turn hangs out with girls a lot.
I'm not at all up on genetics but I'm guessing it's an imbalance in the male and female hormones that makes a person gay/lesbian or more male/female minded.
Yes, I think we've got it now that you like God Emperor of Dune. Honestly, go make a thread about it or something :/Eldritch Warlord said:To the thread as a whole.
