Seriously, I'm male, but I saw a webpage where people upload offensive things gamers always tell to women.
Not only sexist lame jokes, also racist jokes.
I mean If you are a nerd and is the only source where you can be "powerful" bully or an ass, well it might be one place where you can have more friends and talk with some girls.
If you are not a nerd, but an average person, why being an ass? Just play your video games and stop trolling, that's not funny.

Look I'm an average guy and I'm also mexican (yeah that's why my grammar is not the best) and when someone beat me in a game and stops playing just for telling me "u suck fckng wetbag" REALLY? is that all? I mean why stop playing to write those thing that only shows how ignorant and ass u are? I didn't get offended because I'm not a wetbag, but that is just racist, lame and ignorant and that's pretty offensive for the people that go to the US to work.
I actually respond to him and I was really calm and everything, and shut him up.

Look, we are gamers long time ago or not so long, and we are trying to show people that games are not bad as religious fanatics say or some fathers and some politicians, stop being stupid that just prove them right and stop those sexist jokes, we all have a mother show some respect, she's a women u know?
What do you thing girls think about male gamers with those kind of comments?
I think they'll think MALE plus GAMER = Stupid

Those offensive jokes shows how pathetic a person can be.

PS: I'm not mad, but when I started reading those comments against girls I was ashamed. I usually ignore those comments, but again the problem is that we ALL of us are getting this bad reputation.

Yeah, the internet are full of asshats who will make fun of and insult anything that's not them because.. hell I don't know really.

I stopped bothering with Xbox live because whenever I'd forget to switch from my Ebonics voice I would be referred to as "******" about 10,000 times. Every game. Without fail. And then I'd get some interesting private messages regarding my parentage. Made me lose a little hope in gamers in specific and humanity in general? Maybe.

Everyone who's not a generic white male has to put up with it, so I don't take it too personally. And at least its a great way of filtering out people who are complete idiots before you waste your time possibly getting to know them. Silver lining?

I'm a girl and I don't usually play online with people not for that reason but just because I don't like playing online.

People hide behind the internet to be something they want to be on the outside
For a sense of power I suppose.
Either way the best thing to do is ignore it
They're a very select few who do what you described.
Basically they aren't worth anyones time.

I like how you assume that "nerds" are people who are responsible for all of the aggression and discrimination in the world because they can't get girls. You are really kicking back against those people on xbox live there buddy.

Umm...how long have you been using the internet exactly? There are websites for anything and everything you can possibly imagine, and most everything you can't imagine as well. You're kidding yourself if you don't think there aren't any sites dedicated entirely to anti-male humor.

But crusade on if you feel the need to, brother. Fight the good fight and all that...
I've seen that website. It's just a blog of private messages women have been sent on xbox live and they are normally just crude insults. There isn't anything funny about it really, for most of us, I would hope.

Yeah, I remember when I was thirteen. It's just how anonymous people are. I say we should enjoy it while it lasts.

The average online gamer is a complete and total asshole,or maybe that's just my experiance. Every time I talk over a mic I get swarmed with sexist dick heads with the emotional maturity of a 9 year old who think they invented "get back in the kitchen" and the words "attention whore". Yes, i'm using a mic because I want attention, not because it will allow me to better communicate with my team. Then there's the 10,000 private messages I get asking "can u be my gurlfreind?" or insulting me. I don't even use my mic for Xbox Live anymore unless i'm playing with friends.

The gaming culture as a whole needs to grow up and move past this. It's hard to defend the medium when so many of the people who support it go out of their way to make themselves look like fist pumping inbreds. I know it's probably a fool's hope, but hope is the only thing keeping me from ascending a tower with a high powered rifle and proving that video games make you violent. Err...ignore that last part.

Well your biggest problem is that you're on XBL. Females are on mics in Steam games all the time, and beyond the initial gasps of surprise, people just move on and keep playing/talking as they normally would.
Really? The only game I play on Steam is CounterStrike:Source, and while it isn't as bad as XBL it's still pretty bad on most servers.

Gaming culture as a whole doesn't need to grow up. The people in question do.

Guess what? They do grow up!
Some don't, but trolls are like that. They can really be of any age!

Thirteen-year-old with complete anonymity, having been slapped around in a game of CoD by a girl? He is frustrated at his own lack of ability, and vents his frustration due to said anonymity. Hell, you can be sure he vents his frustration even if it wasn't a girl :)

I'm a girl and I probably play online more than anything else, as long as you're not too vocal about it (I don't even use my mic) Steam servers usually find everyone treated equally, but considering how Xbox Live is basically a glorified monkey cage (that's half the fun of it) I just try not to say anything there and made my profile not very specific about gender.

As to being an ass in general, when it gets to the point that it's not even funny anymore and it's just people hurling racist remarks and acting like immature bigots that's when there's a problem, and that's where the image seems to stem from.

Ah well as the first poster noted, give people anonimity and they will behave like wild poo throwing monkeys to get their attention.

And I see you own an Xbox, and the XBL community is just a great big d*ck super magnet, they are vicious disgusting animals, it honestly amazes me every time that humanity spawns such uncivilized filth.
Honestly never found a community as bad, in contrast 4chan is actually very decent.

I wonder, what would the world be without complete idiots who can't plan anything ahead?
Well, probably half the people I meet on Xbox live on a daily basis would be gone, never to be seen again... Or actually, it isn't even that exclusive.
Wherever I go play online, there's said and bound to be a scallywag around the corner, just waiting for the raging time to lash out while the rest don't seem to care whatever happens and just stay quiet.

And it is those self-same idiots that will continue to discourage anyone from actually attempting to communicate with their fellow players.
In fact, if you observe just how little people there are who still bother to plug in microphones, you've seen how much the 'social gaming experience' have gotten amputated. At least, in the Xbox live department.

But, you can't just let those guys win. Hit mute and ignore those fucks if they bother you. Keep social gaming alive, please. It's been like half a year since I communicated over a microphone.

That's what I think.

It my experience, it depends more on the game than the platform it's on. Mainstream shooters that cater more towards the "hardcore" gamer demographic tend to be the worst offenders (Counter-Strike, Call of Duty series, Halo series, etc.). You're better off with titles that tend to have a more whimsical approach, like Team Fortress 2 and Monday Night Combat (though you're still guaranteed to run across a douchebag or two from time to time).

Fortunately most modern games allow players to block voice communications, from muting one player to muting everyone. I can't say I've ever been sent messages with insults, but my advice would be to just delete them without even reading them.

It's unfortunate that there are so many assholes online, but I'm afraid it's just one of human nature's ugly sides. Just remember that it happens to everyone and try to ignore it as best as you can.

I remember my brother made me play Halo on Xbox Live with him and all I could hear were these guys saying show me your tits! Or people saying queer this, fagot that every damn second like idiots. Then again it was Halo so I shouldn't have expected much...That was my one and only time that I have ever played on Xbox Live lol...

Nope, I mentioned nerds because they might be weak on the outside but I also mention average or people in general.
