ok, it's getting beyond a joke.
When will America learn that it's BAD to make movies out of games, comics and anime series? My prime example here is games.
Resident Evil. Played all the games - awesome. Read all the books by S.D Perry - awesome/ Saw the films.. NOT AWESOME, since when was Jill a fag, when was Nemesis good (wtf?!) and when was Tyrant, the monster we all loved and feared a cocky arrogant dick who could talk.. with tentacles not claws i might add.
Alone in the dark, quite a good game, sucky film.
Now there's talk of a fallout movie..? An essentially non-linear game made into a film?!
the only exception i can think of is Silent Hill which was pretty decent.
The reason Hollywood sucks and fails at making these movies are emphasised in whole as to why the Dragonball Evolution movie sucked. That film made me die alot inside.. Been a major DBZ fan since i was old enough to understand half of what was said on cartoons. They changed all character background, didnt even attempt to match teh characters looks.. and just generally failed at everything else.
Why? Because they can't go against the boundaries of reality like games, anime and comics can. For some horrendously stupid reason, Hollywood just can't seem to get it into their heads that this is a fact. I say why, but we all know that it's down to money. Christ i remember the old Street Fighter movie with jean-claude van damme. Then the game of the movie based on a game being released... It's just ludicrous. Hollywood, stop ruining games.
