I was reading an earlier post about trying to kill wolverine and people were saying the only way would be to cut his head off but you can't because of the adamantium.

this has brought up the same question I always have when they show wolvies skeleton or try to kill him. Isn't the metal just connected to his Bones? wouldnt they all just fall into a big pile since they are no longer connected to one another through soft tissue/cartilage?

and couldnt you easily cut off his head by cutting between the vertibrea?

or are they somehow all metallically connected now?

Cutting off his head wouldn't work either... Its been shown that he has been reduced to a skeleton and he still regenerated.

I think that his vertibrea is connected by possible adamantium cartilage. It's a possibility. The only way is to completely remove his entire skeletal structure like Magneto did in the comic books.

I think that adamantium is fluid in some parts of the bones. I mean, if it was hard all the time, he wouldn't be able to move muscles, breathe and he'd get a brain damage really soon (you know, his skull wouldn't change shape when he eats - painful).

I guess that his skeleton is elastic in some parts, like Omega Red's whips.

It's all connected with Adamantium, I believe. I do remember there being a story arc about Wolverine giving Cyclops a magic-imbued sword or something that would both be able to cut through the Adamantium and shut off his regenerating powers, so that Cyclops could kill him if he absolutely had to, or something like that. my information is fuzzy.

Depends on the continuity, but most of his authors choose to let his healing factor bring him back from even the most grievous of wounds. Meaning, he's literally invulnerable (though this may be 'cuz they want to keep him alive to milk more money out of the franchise).

If you took an adamantium blade, and cut him into very small pieces, and then locked each piece into a different container... I wonder if the pieces would eventually die because they couldn't feed off each other to regenerate. Or will a single piece of him regenerate a full body? Holy crap you could have an army of them!

I bet if you filled his brain with adamantium it would kill him. Take the hose thing, put it up his nose or through his eye and pump away!

honestly I'm not concerned on if it will kill him or not (topic of another recent post), but moreso on why no one can rip his head or arms off as they are all just connected by soft tissue and cartilidge.

Well in one of the comics i read he's reduced to just his skeloton and a single cell, he was able to regernearate he's entire body, organs etc from this so i imagine he could do teh same for his head

Actually, there is a way to lop off Wolverine's head. Lady Deathstrike also has an adamantium skeleton. And adamantium can cut through adamantium. So, she could decapitate Wolverine. No guarantees that this would actually kill him or not.

I was thinking that you would cut his skull in to pieces as well.

Wolverines healing factor has gotten way to powerful in the comics...

My gauge is that waaaayyyy back in "Days of Future Past" the original Time Travel Storyline, he was killed in the "dark future" by being vaporized down to a skeleton. It strikes me that full body desintigration would be the most likely way.

Soooooo, wolverine in invulnerable/immortal?
Currently yes!

And it's REALLY stupid.
Oh don't say that, you'll hurt his feelings...

Oh, wait, forgot he's just about shouting at people and roaring for five minutes, then blood blood gore gore. Damn. I think right now, Hulk has more personality than Wolverine does.

But being able to regenerate from vaporization is awesome.

No, the head would just shoot some threads and reattach itself. Or he'd get up and pick it up or something.
