Why can't you do it? Things you just don't understand.

Lots of people have abilities or knowledge of certain subjects that exceed others. However, with this knowledge, it can get rather annoying when people just don't understand the things that you are really good at, and you do not know why.

For example, today, I needed to show my Gramps how to use a mobile phone, and it was really tricky, starting from scratch.
My main strength in this regard is spelling. For example, a recent event at school involved a friend of mine texting his girlfriend (Mentioned in the School Stories thread). Then he asked me how to spell 'Lesbian'. At about 'S' I started to wonder how the hell he could not spell that. I mean, it certainly isn't 'supercolourfradgelisticexpialedocious', is it?

What skills do you have, but can't understand why other people don't?

EDIT: I probably didn't spell supercolourfradgelisticexpialedocious right. Hell, it's not even a word, it's a quote from Mary Poppins...

the longest word is "antidisestablishmentarianism" yes that's a real word (bugger I don't know what it means!) I'm WAY better at computer stuffs in my school hell I'm better than the technology teacher (she HATES me for that) and then there are people who think that they are really good because they pressed the play button on the VCR before me but when push comes to shove they all lock up and don't know what to do! "WHAT'S BIOS CAMP3R? WHERES THE ON BUTTON?!" (morons)

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think antidisestablishmentarianism means (in it's most basic terms) sticking it to the man. I had to do an essay once and that came up.

As for the topic,

Working an Ipod, camera, phone or any other electronic gadget,
Using a computer in any shape or form,
Walking at a reasonable pace,
Not antagonizing large, burly, drunk people,
Eating without looking like a starved rhino,
Peeing into the toilet as opposed to on it,
Washing my clothes and myself,
and thats all I can think of for now.

In my case, it's about NOT doing something, as opposed to others.

I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't do drugs. (I also have very few friends, it's all related).
Each time I meet someone new, and we talk a bit, eventually the subject changes to drinking, when ordering drinks at a café.
Then they're usually amazed by the fact that I'm 'such a role model'... followed by that person taking a sip from his/her alcoholic drink.

How, WHY am I a role model, when I'm an exception, instead of a followed example?

Also, common sense. I seem to be one of the few possessing it, if you don't mind my misplaced arrogance. But whenever I look around, I see dumb people doing dumb things (then again, I consider drinking alcohol as a dumb thing, so my requirements for judging people as dumb aren't that tough to meet...)

Drawing when you have some kind of model. I can't understand why is it so difficult for people to just draw exactly what they see.
It's different without a model because you can't get an accurate look of the thing you are drawing.

Some people (including me) have a hell of a hard time drawing, it's hard and frustrating when you have vivid images of what you see, but can't handle a pen for shit, unless you copy the drawing with layers (a friend of mine advised me to do this for some tricky stuff the first time, then learn the strokes and shapes and practice it again, now I'm trying to learn at my pace using a Wacom tablet and ArtRage -no, I won't become a webcomics artist).

Anyway, as one of my friends stated recently, "[Cyclomega] knows all, and when he doesn't, he invents". I'm usually the guy you ask for obscure cultural references, subculture cesspool extracts and genuine questions that made your day, and when I don't know, I point out to the usual suspects (dictionary, wikipedo, the interwebs, or a profesionnal I happen to know).

Hard for me to explain my talent. Sometimes I just SEE a solution, and can implement it or only very simply explain how to accomplish it to others, but not how I arrived at the conclusion.

IIRC: "Supercalafragilisticexpialadocious" - It was added to one dictionary in the late 90's/early 00's I think; vaguely remember a news cast mentioning it.

I can't understand why people don't use basic grammar when posting on the internet. It's not all that hard.

Spelling, and yes, grammar.
I don't understand it, what's so hard about grammar? It's easy, you merely string a few words together in a sentence, and if it doesn't sound pants-on-head retarded, then you've possibly got it right unless your standards are very very low.
Spelling, well. Just look at an average forum post and you'll see what I mean.
