So im watching Clannad After Story, and im watching the episode where Nagissa is giving birth, and im sitting in front of my laptop curled up sobbing and slowly rocking back and forth chanting "dont die dont die dont die" thinking there are 8 more episodes she cant die then realizing she died, loudly yelling

at the top of my lungs, all at 2 in the morning.

Because she died it almost makes me want to stop watching the rest of the series. It feels like it just isnt right that something that big is missing. I know its still just a show but this is seriously makeing me kinda depressed. Still, ive come this far so i must push on!

Ahahahaa, maybe I should pick Clannad up again and finally get to see that supposedly soul-crushing moment everyone goes on about. I played the Visual Novel instead of watching the anime, and I completed every normal arc and part of After Story before getting bored and giving up.

I always thought Nagisa was the least interest character, and the relationship with her was just fucking creepy. She has the appearance of a 5 year old girl and the attitude/knowledge of a 5 year old girl... That pretty much makes her a 5 year old girl in my mind. When her and Tomoya became basically the only 2 characters after moving in together I just stopped playing, since I was left with the disturbing parts and nothing else.

That said, there were plenty of other depressing moments I actually did get to experience. Thinking back on it, I have to wonder why I carried on playing as far as I did. Getting constantly depressed is not the sort of thing I should be looking for in my entertainment...

Ok I have officially heard enough about this anime to declare that I will never watch it. I rather watch slice of life anime about highschool girls and remain happy until end of my life even if its just an illusion.

If that's how you feel, you can just watch the first "season" and leave it at that. Totally worth it, even if you go no further.

Yeah, it's a little off-putting at first, but once you get past that, it's an awesome show. Annoyingly short, though.

Also, I just got through with Air (another Key anime series) for the first time. Now, you want depressing, there you go. Great story, but depressing as hell.

I think it would've been an absolutely perfect story if they ended it with Ushio bringing him out of his slump and had him as a successful single father (sort of like the movie I guess but the movies based on Key games kind of suck compared to the series). What happens to Ushio takes it too far to be sad in my opinion, and while the ending was touching, it was too happy if that makes any sense.

Also the mystical stuff in Key settings is always really weird.

I think anyone who has seen Clannad knows that feel bro.

As a mega Clannad fan like Dango. (Thanks for the link...also you still have a freaky avatar) When I first watched it I almost fell into the same slump too, but as an anime fan I continued to watch and I was happy in the end. SO happy I played the VN and was super happy in that too.

Fact I was SO happy I went and also played Kanon and Little Busters, I highly recommend both these VNs. (Funny thing, Kud from Little Busters is now my favorite female character now. Still Nagisa sits in second.)

In the end, the series was awesome, the VN was awesome, KEY is awesome. ^_^
