Unlimited Saga. First and last time I ever trusted a fucking clerk. Can't believe i shelled out 600 SEK for this piece of trash. It got returned home where it belonged the next day. And can you believe that that evil twerp tried to sell it off as a new game when I returned some time later?

I don't know why I bought it and I never will, maybe to spread the word about it's shittyness and bugs.

Can somebody please tell me why I felt the need to buy Tiger Woods '08? I don't even like golf, but for some reason I felt the need to buy it.

You ever buy a game and get home and think 'why did I buy this?'.

Obviously it's due to your avatar. I can see where it would drive any sane man into fits of irrational behavior.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go cut off Jennifer Love-Hewitt's feet and build a shrine around them.

...I mean I need to go buy some groceries.

(Why, oh why, did I buy Prey on release day? It was a nice game, yes, but not worth $60.)

I have Tiger Woods 08 actually, and I don't like golf, but like the game. Then again, I used to play golf, my father enjoys golf, and we both are fairly decent at it.

As for games I bought and soon had a classice WTF look about my face:

Mega-Man X Commander Mission
Need For Speed: Carbon
Geist
Tony Hawk's American Wasteland (I'm so ashamed of this one)

Unfortunately, they don't let us do that here. If you open any video game, it's immediately non-refundable. Which is really horrible because unless you rent a game, there's no way of seeing if it's good or not. My friend has a lot of games. He once bought a game for his sister, and the game that came in the case wasn't at all the game that he bought. They wouldn't let him return it. Another time, the same friend bought a game, but the CD was shattered into four pieces. He couldn't return it.
I once bought a DVD that was just a cover. Now I get them to open them at the store just before I pay for it (you can open a DVD case without opening the packaging - specifically the person behind the counter does it). Certainly some of the issues you have can't be solved by this and I feel your pain (I never bothered even trying to refund that DVD - too much hassle).

I also note that a lot of people seem to rent weekly movies from my local blockbuster and return them the next day, never to rent the same movie again. *shrugs* maybe they're ripping them, maybe not. But I can understand the policy.

Back on topic I have three:

Soulcaliber 3, Need for Speed: Carbon, Starlancer (it's an old microsoft space-sim).

All three of them were just a resounding "eh" for me.

Narc and Battlefield 2. No idea why I wanted them so much.

I also hate when other people buy games for me as gifts. Because they don't play games, they have no clue what's good and what isn't. They usually get me something like an Olympics game, which sucks by default, and then I feel awkward about giving it away or selling it. Or they get me a game I already played and got rid of.

But... but... look at all those colours!
do not feel bad, i too fell for the beautiful garden of wonder...

but i actually love it, going from the Blood splatter of Halo 3 to the little place is... refreshing.

I always wonder why i bought WoW, But only after i quit...

When i played it it was a gift from above and i greased up the game box and gave it head... not really.

"Street Racer" for the PS1...I grabbed it from a Game Stop bargain bin, thinking it said "SPEED Racer". Didn't realize my mistake till I got out in the parking lot. Kept it anyway because it was so awful.

Castlevania for the N64. I never played it for more than 5 minutes at a time.

Now that I've finally reached a point in my life where a video game (hopefully) won't break my bank, I don't think I'll ever be able to reach the level of bitter regret that I felt as a child. I had an honest-to-God Powerglove Christmas. Let that sink in for a minute. I think I was nine or ten years old. At that curious and innocent time in my life, I was forced to subsist on one Nintendo game or accessory per Christmas/birthday. Choosing wisely was a matter of deadly-serious importance. The fact that I'm an only child with no siblings with whom to split my losses just made the fucking decision that much more momentous. It REALLY mattered. And I chose a Powerglove. After watching The Wizard, and letting my childhood optimism build up God-knows what type of unrealistic expectations, I bought a Powerglove. Useless. Ugh. that hurt.

Megaman: Powered Up. It was almost the only reason I got a PSP, but after only a few minutes of playing it, I realized that I got far more enjoyment out of the originals. It's okay though, Maverick Hunter X was amazing.

Spiderman 3 for the PS2. I normally research stuff, this time I did not. For gods sake the movie was crap, what made me think the game would be better?

Combat Flight Simulator 3.
"Realistic Flight Environments my ass."

The ground is still made of a cardboard planes.
The only thing I liked about the game was you could eject and then pull your parachute and stuff.
Jeah...

I'm not really a hard-core gamer, so I question why I purchased Guitar Hero III LOR for my Wii a couple of days back. I think because I'm trying to get some use of of Wii, and cursing myself for not purchasing a 360 when I had the chance. >_<
