So when going back to Dark Souls yesterday (in a fit of insanity obviously,) I somehow managed to blitz my way through half of Sen's Fortress rather easily... I couldn't even get past the second row of swingy pendulum slicy death before!

Ok I did get instakilled by Chesty La Rue the one time but let's face it who didn't? But I can't bring myself to trust any inanimate object in the whole damn game now DX

But once I get past that tiny bridge at the end (with the wizard lizard throwing spells at you and the massive clump of swingy traps at the end that are impossible to get through) I have a feeling i'll be ok... There is a Bonfire just past those traps right? Right?! Right?!

[sub]Right?![/sub]

So yeah have you ever fired up a game and just rolled through a previously "impossible" segment?

Side note: How many upgrade materials does the game want you to have? It just threw five or so Large Titanite Shards at me between two chests. Still not sure how "random" the random drops are so maybe i'm just lucky/unlucky

EDIT: The bonfire is a lie.

Horizon in Mass Effect 2, I dont exactly roll through it, but its no where near as hard as it used to be. Mainly because I know that I have to spec myself right instead of putting points into everything

Didn't have too much trouble with Sen's Fortress except the perspective on a couple of the swinging blade sections makes it tricky to see where you can stand safely at points.

There is a bonfire near the top so it's not actually a very long section either.

GTA: Vice City. I played it a long time ago when I was making the transition from PC to console so I guess I was less comfortable with using the controller. When I played it again a few months ago I had a far easier time aiming guns and driving.

There are no bonfires. I invadeded your world and stole them all.

OT: Actully when I was playing Dark souls for the first time I had a lot of trouble with the Taruas demon(First boss, the bull thing).
He killed me a few times and I had no idea how to fight him untill I saw a video that showed me I could climb that tower.

Now though, I could easily kill him on my own with just a dagger. Although I can only hope that ease comes over to Andor Londo, I still haven't been able to get myself playing after being so annoyed with the Gargoyles and Archers.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night was a lot easier than I remembered it when I got it on XBLA. First played it in High School though. That was longer ago than I care to think about. lol

Got past all the giants throwing giant firebombs, fell off the building for no reason (performed a 180 too quickly) probably 2 feet away from a bonfire. Where there's the second mist gate thing /ragequit

There is a bonfire.

As soon as you get onto the roof, the first area that has scorched ground, there's a ledge you can drop off onto. There's a bonfire there.

I've had the opposite, i.e. a 'Why did I find this so easy before?' moment.

I used to play Lylatwars all the time, then I lost the game.
I uncovered the dusty cartrage years later and tried to play it. I fucked up the first level.
Tried again. Still failed.
Damn, I got rusty.

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. I was constantly being thrashed by the final boss, to the point where I got so fed up with the game that I put it away for something like 9 months. Dug it out one day, smashed the boss first go. The same thing has happened with Partners in Time, maybe I should go try beating that boss right now...

The Elite Four in Pokemon Yellow.

I rolled in there with a team of levels 42-45 and the Elite Four had enemies of levels 55-65 (I think). Apart from the first guy and the Champion, not a single pokemon of mine fainted in the battles. Now that was so much easier than I remember.

Other than that? I guess the last boss on Ratchet and Clank 2 was much easier to defeat than remembered. Only used 21 ammo from a single weapon...

When I first got into PC gaming (recently) I found it hard as all hell to aim with a mouse. Now I find it a great deal easier than using a stick. Familiarity, I guess.

Harsh :/

The feeling I got from playing lots of Dark Souls is that certain sections seem geared towards making life very difficult for certain builds. Sen's Fortress seems geared against melee characters. There is usually one of the lightning slingers in out of the way places and all the thin ledges and small corridors make dodging much less effective.

Plus you have the horrendous giant gauntlet once you reach the top, at least those guys don't respawn when you kill them.

Non-gaming wise, riding a bike comes to mind.

OT: Qwop. That is all.

Ahhh, I clicked on this thinking it wouldn't necessarily be game related.

I'm going to force that on you anyway: riding a bike and swallowing pills.

Legend of Zelda:Ocarina of Time.

The Water Temple. had no issues with it when replaying it on the 3DS after about 8 years.
