Why did/would you start smoking?

I am a rather casual smoker, about a pack a month and I don't usually finish it, but to be honest, the main reason I started was out of a violent hatred of anyone who gets on some moral high horse and starts talking down to smokers.
We know it's crap for us, a lot of us just don't care. I chose to smoke knowing full well what the potential ramifications are and I did it anyway.
So out of a vengeful rage of spite and self destruction, I bought some smokes.

I'm not starting, though I've promised myself when I'm an old man I'm gonna start smoking cigars. I figure: I've lived long enough.

Yeah, I hope to reach this

level of badass when I'm 60.

Only reason I'd probably smoke is if I were very stressed.
