Well I started mine (Kyokushin-kai Karate) mostly because I wanted to get in shape and didn't want something as "useless" as lets say football (soccer). And I am pretty happy with my choice because its more than i had expected from it. And helped me in many ways, also my sensei and fellow students rock and there is a great atmosphere in the gym.

So why did you chose ure's?

p.s. if its done before please forgive me and dont flame me to death thank you:D.

Ling-Wood Kung-Fu. Because my step-dad runs it and the fact it's very effective. I've only needed to use it once and it ended the fight pretty quickly.

I do kick boxing and free style karate, I love banging and sparring, hitting the pads. I love seeing the other guy limp after checking a good leg kick, Im just competetive, but Im friendly with it and give people their dues when they get the best of me.

I also do Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to round out my skill set Ive done it for about 18 months now, I did submission fighting for 18 months before that and moved class because the fees went up. I dont regret it. It took a while to get used to wearing a gi but now when I grapple nogi I feel really fast.

Taekwondo.

Because I've always been fascinated by martial arts since I was around 6 or so from seeing them in videogames (most noticeably Eternal Champions) as well as having a massive hard-on for kung-fu movies.
Though I didn't want to do taekwondo originally, it's more convenience since there's a good local class. Had I the choice to pick any martial art, I would have wanted to try the original Kung Fu, the five style Chinese arts. But beggars can't be choosers, especially when it works nicely.
