I don't do drugs of any sort, nor do I drink. But my friend said he "smoked" [apparently he doesn't inhale] to look cool around a certain group of friends. I of course give him flak for that. He apparently didn't smoke for a month at least as of today, though.

I'm 16, never tried smoking, and never will. If I do there is a chance I will become addicted (since that is the nature of cigarettes), and I don't think it's worth the social "cool factor".

I had a cigarette once. Didn't find anything particularly appealing about it, so I didn't continue.

As for why I smoke cannabis, if you're asking, because it's fun.
Its your most (in)famous quality. I dont smoke and i cant smoke cannibis, my family has a history of mental instability. I had terrible halucinations when im sick and run a fever, I trip balls and see weird shit that freaks me out in this weird half awake half asleep state. Thats my mind without any kind of help what so ever. Me with anything else?! I think i would implode into insanity. Would be nice to try though. Im just scared my conciousness will fracture into a thousand demonic shards.

I've tried a few cigarettes at different stages of my life, but never enough to form a habit.
I plan on rectifying that soon.

Topic should be "Why did/haven't you start(ed) smoking?".

I shall answer that one. I haven't smoked ever, and I don't plan to. I have asthma, and I don't want to risk any damage from them, asthma related or not. No real point to, so I don't.

"Stress Relief" is something that I don't require either, as I am good at dealing with stress alone.

I started smoking only while I drank at parties then it became a way to relieve the stress of college and other things going wrong at the time. I know it's bad for me but I feel it's one of the few things keeping me sane at this point.

I started smoking during my first job, I was trapped in a lift that broke down with a patient that had gangrene in of their entire leg, for over an hour, I never wanted to smell ever again. But yeah probably the stupidest decision I ever made in my life.

I always wonder why people start with that kind of stuff.
Really you wonder why people do stuff like that? you can't put two and two together and realize that maybe those things make them feel good? I dont have a problem with people not doing drugs or alcohol but its this kind of attitude that always rubs me the wrong way.
I know it makes people feel good.
I just don't understand why people would choose temporary happiness over a longer lifespan.

I once rolled up some leaves in a piece of paper, stuck it in my mouth, and set it on fire.

That was a bad idea, and I was young at the time, so some conditioning was done that day.
