Why do developers seem more frequently to take away dedicated server support to big PC titles? This is becoming more and more annoying, because dedicated servers are what allowed alot of the PC gaming and mod community to grow, and having a multiplayer pc game without dedicated servers is like having cake withou icing (for lack of a better metaphore (if you can think of a better one, please go ahead and post it)), its nowhere near as good, so, whats the opinion of all you users of the escapist? Also, what do you think, if anything, could be done about this, because another petition is not going to work is it?

Personally, i think that organized mass-forum trolling would work, every PC gamer goes on to every forum of every developer that has decided to not support dedicated servers and flood the forums to pressure the developers into changing their minds, if all the millions of pc gamers do this, then the developers have to do something. The power of the typed word is mightier than the sword (again, any better mataphore suggestions?)

Because they are arseholes that assume PC gamers are as thick/ignorant-of-the-technical-details-as the usual console gamer crowd you get these days.

To fight hamachi. A program widely used to circumvent official servers for online play.
I don't think not having dedicated servers circumvents Hamachi. It can be used for P2P games as well.

I am a console gamer and I program and build computers. I'd say that I know a lot about computers, then.
Don't be so quick to judge people because they play on consoles, even if the stereotypes seem true. It's not only idiotic, but can be very offensive to the people that are the part of your stereotypes, but don't follow them.

That's fair enough and I can respect you for that, but I'd say you're the exception to the rule. And the problem is that dicks like EA, IW etc are playing up to the rule these days.
