Try being Australian.

All of the above and slow internet.
Our game banning isn't quite as bad as theirs.

Though hearing about 'How I Met Your Mother' playing at 9 in the morning there instead of in prime time like it does over here... Kind of makes me want to move to Germany...

Hmm, sounds just like how the Aussies have it. Well, look on the bright side mate, you have very beautiful landscapes with castles that Disney would envy, you have Oktoberfest, and I hear you have wonderful cuisine. :3

But to be more straight forward, you guys have been getting the short end of the stick ever since the end of World War II. :/

First, you're screwed because you're European.
There's some unwritten rule that all things good shall be delivered to Europe one or two months later than the rest of the world gets it.
Secondly, your country fuck itself with the censorship.
But hey, at least you're not Australian.
They get shat on.

Some examples of how we've been screwed over:
-Censoring games: kind of explains it self, but if you want to see how bad it is you should check out this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ocu8JqD7EEk&translated=1
-Banning games: You remember that famous third-person cover based shooter for the xbox 360 which became a benchmarks for modern day graphics and gameplay? Well we haven't since it was banned from a german release.
-Releasing movies late: I can't listen to a single podcast without someone mentioning some hot new release in cinemas. After about 2 months they start talking about spoiler, well guess what, the movie hasn't been released here yet and it won't be released for another 4 moths.
-TV shows: Firefly for example was never shown in Germany. In the show scrubs we are still behind 2 seasons. But even worse than all of that is the time these shows air. Guess at what time How I Met Your Mother airs. No, really, take a second to think about it. If you guessed at 9 in the morning you are correct. Another example is scrubs, it airs at 10.45 pm.

Do you live in a country with similar problems? Your opinions?

Edit 1: I also didn't mention the price on games. 65 Euros for a new game? You know that equals about 100 US dollars? Who would pay that much for a new game?
Aside from the censorship laws (which, I admit, you have it really bad off), gamers from smaller European countries (particularly those in Eastern and Central Europe) suffer from the same problems as you do. Infact, the high game prices hurt us a lot more, beacuse our average income is worse than yours.

Also, aside from a few exceptions, you tend to receive all the high profile games for all platforms. We, however, sometimes have to import the games we want (this especially applies for handhelds, where our local retailers import nothing but shovelware -_-). And since we frequently do so from Germany of all places, we also have to make sure we don't accidentally get a German-only version.

Also, how about gaming contests? Whenever there is a game contest for Europeans, Germans are always on board. But beacuse of our stupid anti-gambling laws, we are always excluded no matter what. -_-

But I suppose even we have it better off than the Australians... =/

We pay that much in Norway too, it's ridiculous.

I didn't even know that was cencored. I just assumed the original version had these blackscreens as well...
That cencorship is riddiculous. And it's splashing over to us Austrians too. I bought Saints Row 2 here and had the exact same "we're sorry, you can't see this violence. But feel free to go back on the streets and kill some hookers when this is done".
-Releasing movies late: I can't listen to a single podcast without someone mentioning some hot new release in cinemas. After about 2 months they start talking about spoiler, well guess what, the movie hasn't been released here yet and it won't be released for another 4 moths.
I'd say that's partially due to dubbing. I don't even want that, infact, I think the Berlin studios sometimes just pick up random people from the streets to translate for them, but still I have to wait and watch it in German. Grr!
Okay, I go to the English cinema whenever I can, but they don't really have that many current films and of course no TV series.

Really? I've seen season 8 months ago on ORF 1. And I don't have a desire to watch season 9 due to the lack of JD. How can you make scubs without the main character?
Do you live in a country with similar problems? Your opinions?
I'm Austrian, so our ownly problem is that some politicians fancy German politics too much and that we get your badly dubbed sitcoms. :D
But fortunately we're too lazy and the parties hate each other too much to make any real changes.
Still, you're poor guys up there.

Actually, we pay quite a bit more here in Norway. Regular price here is around... 600 nok? That's about 75 euro. Lately there has even been a few regular titles that costs 700 nok at launch. That's almost 90 euro, or 110 dollars.

How on earth would you censor the internet? That just seems so unfathomably draconian, it's insane!

Don't forget losing to Spain.... Oh well Uruguay later today.

OT: Here, in 'Merica, we always have some Bible-Thumper, or silly Liberal (hey they agree on something) trying to censor games, but they never actually do.
Too bad you guys got fucked even before us. =)
I guess the great sport of soccer isn't for everybody. xD
