Why do girls dress up as cats for Halloween?

So... yeah. Why do girls dress up as cats for Halloween? In one of my classes there was, about, 8 girls as cats. Just weirded me out and I'm still trying to figure it out.

Well usually it's Black Cats which are a halloween staple, given the whole association with witches and bad luck. It's also very easy to do as people have pointed out, and it's been going on for a long time so it's pretty risk free as a costume choice, your not likely to make some kind of social gaff for picking a retarded costume by going with a classic like this. Depending on how you do it, it's also an easy costume to take off as well.

As far as people talking about how cold the costume is, well that's true of most costumes since they are meant to be work indoors. Outdoor parties in places with cold weather during Halloween of course take special planning and people tend to do their costumes with that in mind.

People do things they like, eat things they like, repeat like, repeat. But more seriously because girls (generally) likes things they find cute, especially at a certain age. Therefore they'll dress up as something cute because it's just that time of year. Well, that's one of the many possibilities, anyway.

The popular costume of choice at my uni seems to be zombie schools girls...aka, girls dressed up sluttily in too small school outfits with white faces, red lipstick and lots of eyeliner. Maybe some red blood marks (lipstick) if they're being adventurous.

Yeah, that reminds me of my Uni too. The trouble is they don't look hot. Not in my opinion anyway, girls covered in blood just makes me cringe at the heavy flow.

A cat suit lets you wear something skin tight to show off your body while still being in costume and allowing you to claim to be cute, not slutty.
