Well...good looking games I mean. And expansions/patches for games I like. And other stuff I'm interested in.

Like...seriously. I've got the new Borderlands and Evil Within on the way (although something tells me I may find myself waiting on a few patches for the latter).
And DA:I is coming soon.
And Far Cry 4.
And I still haven't finished Mordor properly.
And I've just got back into Marvel Heroes.

Dammit gaming industry - space things out a little please! When you do this to me, I wind up with 3-4 games sitting on my desk and end up giving up trying to choose which one to play first and going back to WoW or something.

Which also has the expansion coming next month.

Sigh.

Well, the holiday season is almost upon us. I think that's partly the reason.

It could also be so they can take some money off another IP being sold at the time. Competitive business and what-not. Plus some customers might be heading to the counter to purchase one game, noticing another new game on the shelf and thinking, "Well, I'm already here buying a game. Might as well get it now."

They are terrified of losing any money so the holiday season gets littered with the AAA releases, which is incredibly odd especially this year given that it's been a barren wasteland for releases up until September.

Personally I've even got four games I want coming out really close to each over: Bayonetta 2, Sunset Overdrive, Warlords of Draenor and The Master Chief Collection, and chances are I'll be playing Advanced Warfare soon enough anyway.

Well, The Evil Within sucks, and DA: Inquisition and Far Cry 4 won't see a release sooner than a month. I actually wish they were here right now so I could wash out the awful taste of Evil Within.

Yeah, it's pretty annoying. I still need to finish 100%ing Hyrule Warriors and play a game or two in my backlog before I can justify getting Shadow of Mordor. Thankfully SSB 3DS isn't nearly as addictive as I was anticipating. Barely been playing it at all.

Because the gaming industry wants us to quite our jobs, cut off social ties, and spend all of our time gaming. Because that's sure as shit the only way I'm taking care of my backlog. I still need to beat Dragon Age 2 again to prepare for Inquisition. Not to mention Beyond Earth is coming out shortly.

Really? I never noticed. I'll bet DA:I will be mediocre too.

Anyway, it's not like you HAVE to buy a new game before you're fed up with the previous one.
The wait may even save you some money at the inevitable discount.

Finish what you have, then look at the rest. You never know, some of the games on your buy list might be shit. Or there might be some surprise hit you just have to play.

Why? Doesn't it even work as a RE4 clone?

Really? That's... worrying. I was hoping that the return of horror would be more eventful. How does it hold up to RE4? Shoot, it's holiday season and I may just be waiting for Bloodborne.

You mean apart from 'everything'? It's just messy and unfinished, with it's sloppy gameplay, glitches up the wazoo, and a horror aesthetic that feels like it was farted out by Silent Hill 1.

Well, it depends... You mean like one of those failed clones from Alien: Resurrection? Then yes.

But hey, a lot of people apparently seem to like it. I'm certainly not one of them though.

Borderlands one was a pretty fun game. But it hurt my eyes. Especially after Lasix surgery. I don't know if it's the art style or texture pop in. It's a literal pain for me

Nintendo's good at this xD
[sub][sub]but they did wait pretty long before even releasing anything -.-[/sub][/sub]

Well now there are 3 good releases with a month in between 'em
Hyrule Warrior was in mid September, 24th of October there's Bayonetta and 24th of November there's SmashBros.

Then there was MarioKart at start of summer and for that I got Wonderful101 for free somehow at the end of August and around the end of September an old Fire Emblem game for 3? and AssCreed4 for 12?. So it's been a pretty good autumn for me gamingwise.

I've also noticed that usually everyone releases everyting at the same time, irritating! :D

Well reviews of Evil Within are looking okay, but apparently the PC version has massive issues (sigh at crappy ports). Should arrive soon, kind of looking forward to it as people are describing it as Dark Souls meets RE4.

On the other hand I got Borderlands TPS today and wow am I battling to get into it. Do not enjoy the whole low gravity thing at all.

Ha, that reminds me of 2012. God that year sucked for me. It seemed like I wanted every other game that came out. 2015 has me worried. I still don't have a next gen console and I see an actual catalog of games approaching. Not to mention I spent my gaming budget for this year by Feb and my wishlist is getting pretty long. I already know that the winter sale is gonna have be spend more than I anticipated this year. (technically, I am $30 over budget already.)

FOr the most part 2013 and 2014 were good to me and let me catch up a bit. 2015 is gonna make me pay for my contentment.

They follow this logic of if they release everything during 'peak' period like the holidays, there will be more overall sales. A trend based on decades old information, where the primary purchasing market was parents buying for kids. These days, that market still exists, but there is also a huge market of adults buying for themselves (the kids from decades ago). So there is an aging mentality that the gift period is the best attempt at making decent sales, in spite of the high competition it forces.

Problem is, they havent re-assessed that in....ever, and it doesnt take budgeting into account. Lots of people who would buy a game, will budget a rough entertainment cost into their monthly figures. If a game was coming out every month, they'd probably buy one every month. The games dont come out, and often the money goes to other entertainment. Inevitably, the holiday rush hits....and the budget doesnt change, which means lots of lost sales.

Maybe in another 5 or 10 years when they finally accept kids have grown up playing games, and are making their own purchases as adults, this trend might shake up.

In the meantime, its a great way to pick up a game you really want now, and then some cheap great games in a few months from now.

Dude, just buy one and then buy the rest when they get cheaper, I mean, they will still be the same games when the dry season comes (summer barely has any releases).
